What's the best advice you've ever received?

Post by triathlondaddy »

I've had loads of advice, most of which has really helped me develop as a triathlete.

Could be training, racing or nutrition advice - what's really helped you?

Changes are crucial - make something different on every next training.

This was an advice I got from trainer, and it helped me not only to have great results, but to keep it up for over 4 years in the gym :D

What you eat and how much you eat is the best advice I have ever received.

90% is within your diet, 8% is how much you exercise, and the rest of the 2% is sleep :)

Speak from your heart and never compromise what you feel is real.

Buy a treadmill... Kidding, it was more along the lines of "find a way to reduce barriers." When I first got started running I made excuses for myself all the time and ended up running once a month when I wanted to be running twice a week. Ended up buying a treadmill that folds up (anyone that's curious, it's a LifeSpan TR1200i which has made a bunch of top five lists) as I live in an apartment with pretty limited space and since then I've never had a good enough excuse not to jump on for a bit here and there even if I'm watching TV too  and getting some good exercise.

Stop comparing yourself to others- just continue to work hard and be proud of your progress
