I have been doing steady state cardio on Schwinn Airdyne and strength training for a few months. Two weeks ago I decided to start incorporating HIIT twice a week. I found an example Airdyne workout and started using that. basically I do an eight minute warmup, then full effort for 10-15 seconds, then rest for 1 minute, then full intensity again. I repeat that for 10 intervals and then do a cool down for five minutes.
Anyone do Airdyne HIIT? What do you think of this to begin HIIT?

Hi DDMP, good to talk to you.
I do not do what you are talking about, but the workout you say you are doing seems quite good on first inspections, but the proof is in the pudding so I'd try it for at least 4 weeks and see how you get on.

Re: HIIT for Cardio
I would suggest once you build up to it, longer spurts of high intensity and shorter rest periods. Make it 40 on 20 off in a min etc. See how that works for you. Should find that it is really cranking up your metabolism.

Re: HIIT for Cardio
What's Airdyne HIIT exactly? I've been doing HIIT as regular cardio. Never heard of the Airdyne thing. How is it done?

Sounds like it has something to do with a type of Schwinn Bike .
