I'm recently back in the gym after an injury.
I've put on 20 pounds and am trying to burn the weight quickly. However I cannot do the cardio-intense workouts I am accustomed too because of the injury.
I'm doing Crossfit workouts with adjustments for injury.
Should I be using protein shakes when the main goal at the moment is to cut the 20 lbs I gained?
Please Advise.

I would say they are not important at this time, but it isn't a problem if you want to have one a day.

I also think it's not a problem if you want to use protein shakes, protein actually speeds up the process of weight loss if taken in moderation, so you can use them if you want.
