fat burning suggestions
hello, I'm somewhat of a novice to exercising and losing weight. I'm trying to find a good way to burn fat. I joined the gym in the beginning of 2011 and I weighed 225 lbs. The first 4 months I lost about 22 lbs. I was doing fast walking on the treadmill at a 10.0 incline for 30 min., weight training, and abs. I have problems with left knee so after a while the treadmill was causing to much knee pain. As for the weights I was doing different muscle groups everyday going 5 days a week. Unfortunatley after a while I started going to the gym less and then I dropped it completley. Right now I regret it, especially since I'm at 220 lbs. Also have a problem with right shoulder before I even started working out. As far as shoulder and knee theres nothing wrong, docs could'nt find anything in the MRI. Guess I have arthritis. So I started back at the gym about a month ago. Right now I'm using the eliptical everyday doing cardio training, and abs. The eliptical has been great on knee, i'm not getting any pain from that at all. I feel good and have more stamina but not really seeing any weight or fat loss. diet is ok I don't eat junk everyday I'm pretty good at watching calories. Any suggestions for workouts would be appreciated.

Well Arthritis might be the prognosis for you, but did the Docs actually say that, or is that your assumption.
I would perhaps concentrate on diet for now and see if losing some weight that way, permits workouts to be easier on your joints.
What do you eat and what times do you eat?

I think I know where problem is as far as diet. I work swing shift 3pm to 11pm. I usually eat when I get home. I'm going to stop doing that and see what happens.

Ok so I stopped eating close to bedtime. And one thing I was doing before was drinking protein shakes between meals. And I already lost 5 pounds. so I'm going to keep up with this and see where it takes me. Only bad thing is that protein powder is so costly probably why I stopped drinking them. But if it works I'm going to keep drinking them.
Re: fat burning suggestions
Protein powder shouldn't be costly, if you buy a tub of Concentrrate with Carbs, it should work out quite well, bearing in mind if you buy something with an amount like 35g Protein and 50g Carbs per serving as an example, you wouldn't need that much anyway, so use about 2/3 of the amount and make it last longer.
Re: fat burning suggestions
I agree with BossMan, protein powder should not be costly - look for a reputable place that sells the concentrate online and ships for free. You can get quite a bit for a relatively low price. (Also go to an independent site that posts coupons and discount codes before you check out and see if you can get a discount, especially if you are using a well-known online retailer)

Also have a physical exercise, it is better to invite your friends to have more fun and not getting bored while having the exercise.kitttransam wrote:hello, I'm somewhat of a novice to exercising and losing weight.
