what is healthy food
this may sound kinda stupid but i don't really know what meals are healthy or not... i mean a good steak and salad sounds like an ideal dinner but i am not sure what to get for lunches etc espicially as most of lunches are bought...coz i heard chinese/rice is even full of high carbs and fat...i don't want to jus have salads etc. for lunch
lunches need to be prepared at home and brought to work with you...this way you don't have to buy it which often not desirable...each sunday i cook up a big stew and about 6 peices of apricot chicken which i out in the fridge and take to work with me everyday...before this though you need a full diet plan as different foods need to be eaten at certain times to be beneficial rather than not
i basicaslly eat the same thing at the same time everyday although sometimes i get up early for PT and will have an extra meal but this is basically it:
1 - weetbix x 6, 300ml milk, tbsp brown sugar
2 - apple, 100g stew / mince meat, water
3 - 1/2 bbq chicken, peas and carrots, mash potatoe x 1, gravy, water
4 - 100g apricot chicken, mixed veg, water
train
5 - 30g whey in water, rice bubbles, 300ml milk, tbsp brown sugar
6 - beef burger, mixed veg, water
7 - fish, 200g yoghurt, water
i may miss a meal from time to time but this is it 80% of the time...note that this amount of food doesn't not increase or decrease muscle for me it's just a maintainence level although if i wanted to lose fat i would increase activity instead...note 80% of carbs at breaky and post workout meal...very very important...currently at 71kg and 11%

Definately pack your own food and bring it with you. It's best to eat foods that are not heavily processed. As close tothe natural source is best. Fresh fruits and veggies, lean meats, unprocessed carbs such as potato, yam, rown rice, oats, and some good fats such as flax oil and avocado are good choices.

Re: what is healthy food
On the contrary, if you ask me almost all foods are healthy. The only things you need to watch out for are sodium and saturated fats. If you can do that, then for the most part you're good.
Re: what is healthy food
Not really you need to watch out for the excess carbs, sodium, saturates, trans fats and hydrogenates and bad sugars like high fructose corn syrup.

I came across a great running list of low cal recipes- http://www.beachbody.com/beachbodyblog/ ... on/recipes I made the spinach dip the other day and it was really good. With the Superbowl on Sunday they have a bunch of appetizers to look at. Hope this helps.

whole foods are the key , they don't have an ingredients list like many of the processed foods you will find.
protein - eggs/lean beef(round)/lean pork (loins)/chicken breast/greek yogurt/cottage cheese/salmon/tuna/sardines/skim milk
carbs- brown rice/whole grain cereal & breads/quinoa/oatmeal ( fav with breakfast)/carrots /turnips/kale/broccoli/cauliflower/apple/banana/pear/plum/etc......
I like to divide meals into 4 daily of about 400/cal , plus a shake, and each meal comes from something close to the list above, example
8 am oatmeal and eggs
11am greek yogurt/protein powder/banana
2pm sardines/brown rice /apple
5 pm chicken breast/turnip/carrot/broccoli/cauliflower
8pm protein shake
aprox 2000 calories/give or take 300 depending on what im trying to accomplish
