Push-ups are a no go

Post by Serasen »

So I broke wrist 10 years ago and its a permanent injury, meaning I cannot do push-ups. I've been searching for an alternative that will work the same way just without requiring wrists to do much. So far all I have found are people with casts and trainers that say either suck it up, or just don't work that arm...Any input or where to look or ideas for modified exercises would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. It will not heal and range of motion is at 30 degrees

Hi Serasen, good to talk to you.

Has anyone ever suggested dips, but not the tricep dips using a bench, but the front dips using a vertical frame, where your body is between roughly 10-30 degrees?

It looks like this.

Would that sort of thing work for you?

I would be very cautious. Sometimes we are driven by our desires to achieve more and yet we hurt ourselves while not being careful.

I think you should have a slightly modification in your push ups position and also try to put less weight on your wrist because it may hurt you in future.
