I would love to conquer the 1lb mark by the end of this week. I have only been able to increase calories by 500, while maintaining 3x a week cardio, and daily lifting.
Should I up cals a 500 more? That would bring me to a total of 1000 surplus calories. I had someone tell me I should, Any opinions?
Also, if I am lifting hard daily and eating clean, I should be able to avoid gaining fat right?
Yes...diet has just as much to do with adding muscle as a well balanced weight routine. And Sarah's advice abount increasing weights is very important for growth. trainer would always tell me if your not sore the next day...you didn't give it all you could. Form is #1, make sure you are using correct form on each and every rep you complete. Crappy form will lead to crappy results. If you're not seeing results, yes...add more protein. At the cusp of training I was eating so much food, I could hardly finish what was on plate. Lunch I would have 6 ounces of chicken, tuna, fish, ot turkey, 1 cup sweet potato, and 1 1/2 cups green veggie. Dinner was the same cept for no potato. And I wasn't do any cardio, which totally sucked, but it worked and I gained! Good Luck :D
I know what you mean about not being able to finish whats on your plate! I am so full all day and night I am sometimes dreading next meal. Hhaha!

if going for bulk then full body is the best way...when you need detail for comp's, then iso stuff can be used

And don't forget the added need for rest and sleep. About 2 hours additional sleep per day while training (as opposed to non-training periods).

This is difficult to achieve because of social and other obligations, but make an attempt to get the extra sleep.

All of you have been awesome! Thanks, and keep it coming.
I have been doing full body workouts for the past week and I have to say...I LOVE it. It is working out perfectly for me. I already feel stronger, and am seeing slow but sure gains in lifts. Packard--You are definitely right about getting extra sleep. I find that I truly need those extra hours! I have been dedicated in getting them.

I weigh again tomorrow! I'll let you all know how it goes.

A question:
I have been taking small servings of Kre-Alkalyn creatine. Now I know that most women do not take creatines, however I dont see how it could hurt me. Do any of you have an opinion on wether or not I should be taking it? if so, can you explain to me the reasoning behind your opinion?
Do any of you women take it?

Thanks again! I'll post weight tomorrow.

Creatine can cause water retention.

Kre-alkalyn causes less then mono, but still causes some.

Imagine that when you're having your "on" week.

The power increases would be not worth the money, and some guys 30-40lbs heavier than the kind of weight average females have, would get the same end result.

It will benefit you, but not much. Certainly not enough to justify buying it I don't think.

See how you feel using creatine, it won't hurt you. Personally it makes me retain too much water, but that's just me. I have found that stacking beta alanine and BCAAs works very well for me, without the bloat. I cycle the alanine, but use BCAAs all the time.

I use it occasionally, merely for the "effects" it has on helping muscles grow. I feel fine using it.
I work at a nutrition shop in a GOld's Gym, and am a Nutrition Specialist, so I know all about creatines and how they work. I feel sometimes that I can give other people all the nutrition advice they need, but in regards to myself I like to hear other opinions beyond own!

How does one qualify to become a nutrition specialist? Is it the same as a nutritionist?

SO IT'S OFFICIAL!
I have officially gained 3 pounds in 2 weeks! I gained 1.7lbs since last weigh-in, and that totals me at an official gain of 3lbs. I'm very excited, I have worked hard for that 3lbs. Haha :D Let's hope I can keep it going!

To become a Nutrition Specialist, you have to undergo training and pass a small test. company E.M.B. Nutrition does it upon hiring.

Sorry but promoting sites that sell stuf isn't permitted. Just so you know :)

I wanted to report gains so far...

I have gained 6lbs as of yesterday. body fat percentage has maintained!
The most exciting part of these gains has been strength growth. I have seen significant gains in EVERY area of body. For that alone, I am happy!
