Can't Start
I know a lot about fitness. I know all kinds of things about nutrition. The only problem is I have absolultey no self control. I can't stop eating. And if we have sweets in then week is shot. Can anyone help me with this nasty problem?? I am not obese or anything. Im not even really overweight, maybe 2 pounds. I am trying to lose 10 pounds of fat, and gain muscle.

Hi, you make me remember someone...ME!!
I've got a few pounds to lose too and unfortunately i've a huge appetite.Well, your first step is to find out what triggers you to eat that much- boredom, anger or like me, lack of sleep.Maybe using a food diary might help. To beat those cravings too, i guess u try to stay away from those junks, by throwing them,or hiding them. Also, you can try substitutes like frozen fruits.

Once you take the sweets out of your diet... and leave them out for atleast a couple of weeks... your cravings should begin to subside for the most part. A big part of this is what youre eating. If you choose the right foods you can actually eat ALOT and feel full... in fact, I'm on a very restricted diet and pretty much never feel hungry. When i do begin to feel even the tiniest bit hungry its time to eat again. I've found if i let myself get overly hungry then i am likely to overeat, however if i eat as soon as i begin to become hungry i eat just enough to satisfy and move on.
Soooo when it comes to choosing foods its vital to choose foods that are the least processed, with the least amount of crap added to them. Sadly, the majority of people live on foods that are processed with things like sugar, salt, chemicals, fat, and other stuff added in. We really don't need this stuff in our diets (well actually we do need fat but not the kind often added to foods).
Healthy options for food include things like: eggwhites/eggs, chicken, fish, lean red meat, soy, low fat cheese, oats, whole grains, sweet potatoes, quinoa, veggies, fruits, nuts, avacado, olive oil, coconut oil, flax.... These foods all pack a lot great deal of nutrients without putting a bunch of unnecessary sugar, salt, and other chemicals in your body. Also, you can eat a HUGE bowl of oatmeal for only 200 calories or so... compared to maybe 1/2 cup of say ice cream or sugary cereal for the same amount of calories. I like to eat so to me it sounds like a no brainer to go for the food where i get the most food for the calories.
As for you not being able to stop eating... grab some celery sticks and brocolli and you can pretty much eat all you want without having to worry about it. As for eating unhealthy foods... nobody can stop you from the foods you choose to put in your body. Honestly, if you want it bad enough you will find a way to fuel your body properly by making healthy food choices. We can help you along, we can motivate you, we can educate you, but ulimately it is your choice, your body, and your decision regarding the foods you choose to put in your body.
Hope this helps!
