Has anyone tried this brand? It's very cheap, so it made me a little suspicious. Would appreciate any first hand experience feedback on this product.

Re: Nutrisport 90+ Protein Powder
Hi Fygle
I've been using it for the last 3 weeks or so (whenever I started using pp) and I found it great and yes affordable. I only used one scoop as there was plenty of protein in the one scoop for needs.
It's tasty too!

Thanks Noosk! Which flavour are you using? Chocolate?
Re: Nutrisport 90+ Protein Powder
I used it years ago. It's okay, but in reality unless you get some Carbs in there sommehow, you will get less synthesis of the Protein, because Carbs would stimulate an insulin spike to help the Amino Acids.
As the powder has virtually no Carbs, I suggest adding some in. Crushed Oats would be a good idea, and some Honey if you wanted to, but primarily high GI complex would be the way to go for me, because simple Carbs like Honey don't stimulate much in the way of Glycogen recovery, or stimulate an Insulin spike that would last about as long as the Protein digestion rate, so you could get tapered Insulin production at some point, which might increase Protein wasteage, because some Protein would not be synthesising as effectively after the Insulin drop.
That's theory anyway and I'm sticking to it

Re: Nutrisport 90+ Protein Powder
Nice, that's breakfast covered then (oatmeal w/PP)
What about fruits and berries? I usually have a pre workout smoothie about an hour before with berries (blueberries <3) and some fruit (banana, kiwi, mango etc), plain yoghurt and fruit juice with a scoop of powder. A protein shake with oats doesn't sound all that pleasant to be honest! Post workout I'll have a plain protein shake, but I eat a meal right after anyway, like whole grain bread with omelete.

Re: Nutrisport 90+ Protein Powder
Yup chocolate. and I always eat either some cereal or a cereal bar with it especially after workouts so I'm getting protein and carbs post workout.
see? I am listening to all your wise words and learning!

Re: Nutrisport 90+ Protein Powder
@Les, the yoghurt is sugar free, though, but I see your point. I tried your trick with the oats and it worked a treat, cheers. A dash of skim milk, PP, oats, a cup of frozen strawberries + a tsp sweetener in a blender was pretty good!
Re: Nutrisport 90+ Protein Powder
It's no sugar added
I don't worry too much about that sugar though ( I choose to think the body needs it for the workout
), the smoothie only amounts to a coffee mug, but thanks for the info. I actually never realized it had that much sugar in it naturally.

Re: Nutrisport 90+ Protein Powder
I ended buying this product. I'm very happy with it so far, the chocolate type tastes nice and is easily mixed into liquid, leaving no lumps at all. No complaints then with a price that low.
