Stiffness
So, for some reason when I have been lifting.. I get like a stiffness in left forearm area.. from the elbow to wrist.. It just feels stiff and makes it hard to keep a hold of dumbbell/barbell.. Does anyone have any idea what this might be from? It goes away after awhile.
Re: Stiffness
If it's a burning sensation, then it's the result of the body using muscle Glycogen, but then having very reduced Oxygen retention, causing the Pyruvate end product, to convert to a byproduct called Lactic Acid.
Otherwise it could be a technique flaw. If you're doing something like Reverse Curls with a flat Bar, try it with an E-Z Bar. That should correct the problem, touchwood.
If it's a technique issue in other ways, then consider not using a twisting motion, or perhaps a fuller range of motion, if you're not getting the full extention and contraction required on the exercise(s), causing your problem.
Alternatively remove any offending exercise(s) and substitute them for similar ones, perceived not to cause the issue.

Re: Stiffness
It only happens at the end of routine usually like last 2. It just feels weird I like move it and smack it against the bench and it feels fine then.. It mostly happened when I was doing walking lunges.
Re: Stiffness
Can't fathom that. You get a stiffness in the forearms duing Walking Lunges?
I am wondering now if maybe you're locking the Elbow out, or gripping too tightly on the db's.
You might also be accidentally flexing the wrist when doing it, without noticing, or alternatively you're right handed, so the Left forearm isn't as strong as the right and is reaacting the strain placed on it, a little more than the right one.

Re: Stiffness
do you computer or hold a pen a lot?
Re: Stiffness
Nah, I try to be outside doing things... And at work I just lift things too, haha. I am thinking it was the way I was holding weights in left hand.
Re: Stiffness
Could be work related though if you're lifting things at work, so don't compeltely rule it out.
