I belong to Planet Fitness, and yeah. They have some bs rules, but dead lifts are allowed.
There are two bad things about the gym:

You can't bring protein shake in (I do it all the time, and say it is water).
They don't have dumbbells over 80 lbs.

I don't believe in grunting. Yes, it does help you, but it is very, very annoying, so I am fine with it being disallowed.

ha ha that’s the stupidest thing ever. You should deadlift grunt and through the weights around let em kick you out if you want they can give you your money back to

When I began doing dead lifts at Planet Fitness they came over to me and stated that they set the gym up not to encourage dead lifts, not that you were prohibited from doing them.

I've never had a problem since and I see others doing dead lifts as well. I think their concern is injury if they are not performed properly.

Wow this still blows mind. What a shitty gym from the sounds of it. It’s hard to believe but obviously true I read the article lol. No way could I work out at a place like that. How lame

this is really old but ya i just deadlift anyways and haven't gotten in trouble yet :p. im moving gyms when i can lift seriously this summer though. your sympathies are appreciated :)
