Congrats!

At first it was really painful for feet, so I switched back to old shoes. That helped tremendously. I clearly need the arch support These ones are causing blisters, but I figured they will harden up eventually Buying a new pair is not an option as I am so riddled with debt I have to laugh or I would cry So time to focus on that.

so have you been running in the dark after work at all?? You will get the debt paid off in no time with the promotion and side job. :)

For your budget, eggs and toast would be cheap, soups are cheap to make or buy and even chris suggested making lasagna.

i think just eating what you buy and not making too many trips to the grocery store helps for me. and NOT eating out!! I was looking at spending over the last year and it was surprising how much i spent on eating out. More than i realized. I don't go out to eat a lot i didn't think!

Happy thanksgiving everyone! I started thanksgiving off the right way, I ran 3.4 miles :) I'm actually really enjoying running in the winter. lungs hurt and it's flippin' cold out, but it's a great feeling to finish knowing that I didn't let the crappy weather keep me from doing what I love! And Becky, yes, I am running in the dark and I love it!!!!! I tend to not listen to music when it's dark because I want to be more aware of surroundings, but it's kind of peaceful running in the quiet night air :)

I've been super busy. I'm currently at 142.0 pounds, so I'm up just a bit from low, but I'm not too worried about it, I'll get there :) I am not going to continue a part time job because new position is keeping me extremely busy so I can't commit to a schedule for a pt job.

I hope everybody is doing great, I will catch up on journals later today. If you're in the US, Happy Thanksgiving! If you're not, then just have a fabulous day :)

Keep it up Jocelyn!! :) Glad you like winter running!! :) I think it's good that you quit the part time job. I think it's too demanding and you sound pretty busy already anyways. You run the risk of burning out that way. :D

Thanks boss and Becky :)

I was done to 141.6 this week (I weigh Wednesdays) so down slightly. But I'll take it because it means I didn't gain over Thanksgiving :) :)

On a sour note I have a couple new injuries. I have absolutely no clue how they happened. I woke up yesterday with a pulled muscle in right shoulder and in left foot  How does that happen?!!? Unless I was sleepwalking I have no explanation  Running is out for a couple days but it's just as well because it is currently in the single digits so a but too frigid for running outside!!! I am going to try a DVD tonight to see if I can muster through the pain.

I may have to stick to DVDs during the week and then running on the weekends in daylight. There is a prowler on the loose in neighborhood, he has been caught peering in windows and trying to break into homes within a 2 block radius around house - I'm literally the exact center of where he has been spotted. Unfortunately they haven't caught him yet so I'm not comfortable running in the dark by myself right now.

stay safe. that would freak me out if you caught someone looking your window!! hope they catch him soon! maybe he will stop now that everyone knows about it.

is it snowy down by you?

do you think you will buy some yak tracks?? Or i might be misspelling it. Suppose to help you run better in the winter. I never did and i ran outdoors near the mn and canadian border so it was snowy and cold. But i know a lot of people like them.

Looking in peoples windows and prowling about? Maybe the guy got bored of looking at google images whilst whacking himself off.

There are some real weirdo's in this world :?.

Even during the day time... carry a small dog spray or something. I've been hearing a lot of joggers get mugged.
It doesn't matter if it's day or night time... It happens all the time and vairous places. So please be safe! :D

Becky - we did get snow this week so it should be a white Christmas :) Unfortunately as you know, the bitter cold started super early this year so it's awful out! Hopefully Saturday will be decent so I can run! I haven't bought the yak tracks (didn't know there was a name for them!). cousin used to use them and loved them so I probably will now that it's snowy out!

Boson, you're not making me feel better

Nokie, yes, I now got pepper spray and i take it out with me when I take Stewie out and it stays in nightstand at night. And I will take it on runs with me!

I feel like this journal has sort of come to an end now that I accomplished half marathon! Yay to meeting goals   so I will probably start a new one to give me a little kick in the honey to focus on diet again :)

Haha bossman! It's pretty clear when I have posted from phone :D Darn autocorrect! I also meant "kick in the hiney", not honey

I weighed myself yesterday - no change, still 141.6 - but not a gain so I guess I'm ok with it!

I have a feeling with your new job you are as busy as can be. :) When i'm bored working (which is all the time) i sometimes will read some of your journal and others as well while i'm on the phone. :D All of them are motivating and they truly are struggles and small glimpses into each of your lives. Each person dealing with different issues and bonding over the same goals. :)

i find your's motivational because you struggle but you dig deep and keep going and you are very determined! also you mention your weight loss weekly and it's nice to see it go down weekly which is motivational too. Just thought i would let you know. Hope all is well. :)

Wow, I guess I'm due for an update!!! I can't believe this much time has passed! I was trying at at least keep up on reading other journals but life has completely gotten crazy. They still haven't filled old position so I'm still doing both. It's been keeping me working pretty much around the clock :( I don't workout at all and diet went down the crapper for awhile :( Although I am back on track now. I have to cook all of food on Sundays because I don't have time to cook and it was too easy to fall back on fast food and frozen pizzas.

I am hoping there is a light at the end of the tunnel soon. I am stressed beyond belief, but I'm trying to keep a smile on face - it's not easy but it's better than the alternative  I am still really struggling with budget but I'm learning to make really cheap meals! And I am now donating plasma so it sort of forces me to eat healthy :)

I am really itching to run but I'm so tired by the time I stop working that I pretty much just crash. Not that I could run much in these ridiculous temps anyway - today was a heat wave, we topped out in the low 20s  it felt like spring, how sad is that! But on the bright side, I am signing up for another half marathon in September :). This one will be in Chicago. I am so excited for it - I am giddy as a school girl thinking about it

Thanks, Becky! I appreciate the support :) I will try to catch up on everyone's journals soon!
