Plyometrics is a cardio strength Hybrid, because it pretty much always utilises some kind of aerobic motion in the technique, but it's often based on Anaerobic movements.

Lynne, I will have to get you that recipe tomorrow, sister borrowed that cookbook and I just realized she hasn't given it back yet! But they are soooooo yummy! The filling can be used in a taco shell, or on lettuce ( favorite).

Which Bob Harper dvd did you get? I got the cardio one today (not the pure burn/pure strength or whatever it was called). All I can say is   If that isn't considered strength training, then body must be crazy, because muscles are feelin it more than ever before!

It's called Bob Harper "Inside out Method" with a tag line that says "body rev cardio conditioning". It has 2 workouts on it. One is 1 hr. long and the other is 20 minutes. I love it! :D

did you do the 1 hr. or the 20 minute one? I haven't tried the 20 min. one yet. But the 1 hr. one is deceptively brutal. It kinda sneaks up on you, he tricks you into concentrating on the db lifts - all the while you are doing about a million squats, and don't even get me started on the walk out pushups.
oh...btw...that guy in the video is a total wimp...he cheats when Bob isn't looking. I was yelling at him the other day when i was in serious pain holding those squats...I was like "cheater!!!! omg....you aren't even doing it!!!" hahaha! son was looking at me like I'd lost mind. But it helped me get through the workout.

That's exactly what I was thinking about that guy - what a wimp!!!! I was working ten times harder than he was! I was getting so mad at him :x But I decided I am going to use his laziness as motivation to work harder because I don't want to look like him when I workout :D

I know, those squat/deadlifts are brutal!! That's why legs feel like jello now!

Thursday was a rest day.

Todays' planned workout:

3 mile run (as per 1/2 marathon training) & 20 to 30 minutes BH (Bob Harper's) workout dvd

Kinda bummed - no weight loss this week (but it was THAT week, if ya know what I mean  ) but still...wanted to see a little loss. :(

So, hoping to see some better results next Friday weigh in. 8) Gotta stay positive.

Definitely stay postive Lynne it probably is due to what you said. I haven't lost much weight yet either, but i'm positive eventually it will happen if i can maintain diet. :)

Oh yeah, I hate weighing myself that week... I never know if I've lost anything until the next week, maybe you're that way too?
Stay tough and don't worry, you're doing so well!

Thanks guys! It helps so much to have some encouraging words. :D

Got arse out the door today for a run. Did NOT want another treadmill run, especially when it is 57 degrees outside and the sun is shining!

It was a tough 3.8 miles. You'd think I had never run a step in life. The treadmill is great to get your heart rate up, and I always sweat buckets - but it is no comparison to getting off the belt and having to propel yourself forward with all your own power. I need to run outside on the streets, trails, whatever to begin to condition body, physically build up the strength for it to withstand 13 miles of impact running - and a treadmill just ain't gonna do that for me.
Besides all of that.........it did feel good to be out there.....well except for when i had to run past the China Buffet and Golden Corral and had to inhale all that saturated fat and grease that filled the air - gahhhh!!! It was nauseating. Other than that, it was great - finished the run jamming to Beyonce "all the single ladies" 8) love that song, lol!

57 degrees in January, nice! I don't think i would even have a gym membership if it was warm like that here. I could use the school pool to swim laps and such. gym's are nice to have but with warmer weather like that easier to get by without it too. :)

yeah, the high today is supposed to be 74 degrees. :D It's 66 right now. :D

Just got back from the grocery store. Excited that they finally got greek yogurt again. I bought a new brand to try out. It's all natural greek strained yogurt 0% fat.
Image
pronounced "fa-yeh".
A 6 oz. container has 120 calories, 7g. sugar, 15 g. protein. I opened it and used approx. 2 tbsps. to top baked potato. I must say it is very creamy, & yummy - has just a bit of tartness to it, but not that wangy taste that alot of plain greek yogurt has. I actually ate some right off the spoon and it was good! Since I would mostly be using it as a topping or in a dressing mix, I would very rarely be eating 6 oz. at a time.

Now that I know I like it, I will buy a bigger tub next time. :D

calves are sore - proof that I have not been working them hard enough on the treadmill. I guess the push off motion from running on the street as opposed to having the treadmill belt moving and thus "helping" calves do their work is evident. :|

todays meals:

Kashi dark coconut fruit & grain bar

Small baked potato w/tbsp. butter and 2 tbsp. greek yogurt w/chives

PB&J sandwich on whole wheat bread

carrots, broccoli, celery w/dip

deer meat tacos with homemade salsa and guac. dip.
