Yes, that is a good idea Les. I could do some stretching exercises for them. I generally avoid any type of muscle building on calves - they are huge already and I am terrified of making them larger - I know that is an unreasonable fear, but there it is.

I just got all giddy because I realized I can top tacos tonight with a dab of FF greek yogurt! :P ...I gotta get out more...

I know how you feel! Big calves are in family as well. I was nicknamed popeye in college. :)

Todays workout:

2 mile run as scheduled on training program.
Felt pretty draggy the whole way. :|
Time: 19:27
walked .1 to cool down.
Wanted to do more, but was short on time.
This week I noticed mileage will be increasing. I'm beginning the 3rd week of training. Mileage last week was 14. This week is supposed to be 16. :D

Todays meals:

kashi bar / bottle of water flavored with apple drink stick (turned down the donuts boss brought to work - yay me  )
Lunch: Mexican restaurant - mexican style steak cheese sandwich - easy on the cheese, heavy on the grilled onion, peppers, stewed tomatos - yum
post workout: small banana, 8 oz. choc. lite soymilk
snack: carrots, broccoli, celery w/dip
dinner: deli turkey sandwich (trying REALLY hard not to have a PB&J) w/tomato, onion on ww bread & handful of almonds, pistachios, walnut mix
I'm thinking about making a homemade spread w/ ff greek yogurt & avocado & using it instead of mayo.

Hubby took me to lunch. I had grilled Mahi Mahi with a shrimp, hollandaise sauce. And braised new potatoes. yum
Which wasn't so bad, but the bread...OMG...it was so good, I tried to be strong, really....but it was a special treat to share a bread basket with sweety. I'll just have to double up on a workout or two. It was nice for the two of us to spend some daylight hours together, just me and him...well, if ya don't count the other people in the restaurant and the 20 or some waiters & waitresses.

I just signed up to do a triathlon in May!! gaaahhh....what was I thinking!? lol
No, I'm actually really excited about it. It's only a Sprint triathlon with a 400 meter lake swim, 13 mile bike, and a 3.1 wooded trail run, and I will just be coming off of a 1/2 marathon in April, so should be in decent shape. :D woo hoo!!

I don't know yet, how I will be training for the swim part. I need to train in open water, not a pool - but I don't have easy access to any lakes here close to where I live, so more than likely I will swim at the gym pool. The race swim is only 400 meters, so hopefully it won't be too bad. The last tri I did, the swim was 1 mile! :D

One mile, i have no idea how many laps in the pool that would be! i think one lenth in lap pool is 25 meters?? I'd have to look. Do you train on your own or do you follow some kind of training plan for tri's?

One mile in a pool that is 25 meters for one length, you have to swim 66 lengths (or 33 up & back). :D The pool at gym is 25 meters.

I'm going to try and do that sometime, just to see how long it would take for me. biggest problem is i will forget what number i'm at when swimming laps. mind wanders. :)

Yeah, I had a hard time remembering what lap I was on. I would usually say it out loud - that really helped me. Or one thing you can do is time how long it takes on average for you to do one complete up & back lap, then times that by 33 and you'll know how long it should approx. take you. It took me (after I got in shape and practice - about 2 minutes and 15 -20 sec. to do one complete lap.
