Another idea. Soup is very filling, so if you prepared soup in a thermos and took it to work, you could literally drink some soup quite quickly when you're stuck for a and the thermos would keep it warm for you.

Great suggestion! A smoothie might work better with egg whites and fruit or something... it's pretty hot at work and the idea of soup makes me want to die right now! Good suggestion on the liquid meals though I'll keep that in mind.

By the way, I'm going to England for a wedding that's taking place partly in Stourton and partly in Shaftesbury (!) this summer, have you ever been there?

I had to google those, so no I haven't been there .

I assume you're referring to Shaftesbury in Dorset and Stourton Caundle in Dorset, as Shaftesbury appears to have an abbey.

Yeah, that's right. husband is from Newcastle so we will be there for a little while, too, at the end of the trip. Because England is so small, I always assume everyone has been everywhere 8) It's silly. I've lived in Canada all life and have never been to either coast, like British Columbia or Nova Scotia. It's so darn big, you really have to take some time and make a point of it to go anywhere.

England isn't massive it's true, but it's not small. In comparison to other European countries like Andorra, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg, it's actually quite spacious

Thank you, Lynne! That means a lot coming from you! Yeah it's getting tough. brain is doing that "you've essentially done it already, why not eat donuts??", but I'm fighting it. husband has helped a lot by stopping me when I wanted to do something, and he's barely cheating now either, which makes it so much easier for me. I want to eat pure sugar for emotional and psychological reasons, even though I'm satiated and have energy for everything I want to do. I almost gave up today, but I didn't. This discipline thing is tough!

The discipline thing Is tough, but if it was easy everyone would do it, although if you use a flip reverse take on that, you could say many people do it and it is easy, because being disciplined regards sitting on your touche all day, shovelling cack in to your mouth is second nature to many overweight people, as easy as breathing is .

You're doing a great job and I'm very proud of you, for doing something quite tangible in relation to your end goals and beginning to show signs of mastering it. The discipline thing should get a bit easier, the more the distance between the present and the last time you gorged on sugary content, gets longer.

Thanks, Boss :) The first 2 weeks felt so easy, and now week 3 is just knocking me out.

On the discipline front there are hormonal reasons at work too... which I'm hoping will soon pass 8) Kind of medical info, I know, but hormonal changes make a big difference to the things I want to eat and the way that I feel in body. I think that it's almost like when men take steroids.... angry, short fuse, short-sighted, and ill-tempered all around. Difficult to keep the ol' long term goals in mind. I have to get through this week. I HAVE TO get through this week. I haven't been feeling like breakfast so I need to find a solution. I'm thinking that throwing coffee in the blender with half a banana and a scoop of whey, with some whole milk, would taste great and be appetizing at that time. We'll see. I need to dig out handmixer or buy a blender.

I started a "Cheat Meal Brainstorm" on calendar for the day following this 4-week challenge. On the list so far: blueberry pancakes with maple syrup, a deep fried mars bar in pastry, a dr. pepper float with vanilla bean ice cream, an oreo blizzard, nachos, donuts, pizza, and dark chocolate mousse. I'm trying to structure one day, and then I'll probably just be wiped the next day.... it will be so worth it

Actually most people on Steroids lead pretty calm lives, rather than being angry and emotionally volatile, from what I understand. Apart from something called Halotestin, causing the dreaded "roid rage", most Steroids apparently don't in the vast majority of users, so roid rage is mostly an overhyped sterotype.

Good point, Boss! I realized I was talking about testosterone. I know a lot of people that take it - men and women - and they all go through this super angry phase.

Thanks Becky, I'm trying to hang in there

I was really hungry today. Just going to eat that 11:30PM meal now. Going on a 3-day little vacation to cottage country tomorrow after work. Not going to cheat, and going to do the 5k run in a Sprint Tri relay on Sunday. The weather is WARM so it's going to really feel like a vacation. I can't wait to have 3 days off! Last year I really didn't like the photos from the tri, so I'm looking forward to some better ones that I feel more proud of this time around.
