Thanks Jocelyn! It is just a little bit of loss - but so hard worked for! I'll take every ounce.

I'm sure you will Lu. Just keep at it, you WILL get there.

I've missed last 2 days of workouts - feeling a bit under the weather, and it is THAT week :x - so no weigh in this week. I may wait til the end of the month, cause we are going to be on vacation soon and I know I'll have to do damage control....
I've been doing really good making some small changes - but are big to me. No diet sodas PERIOD in almost 3 weeks - drinking iced green tea instead, no chips...that's right I said it...no chips - for me this was a huge stumbling block for me, chip addiction - but I quit cold turkey 3 weeks ago and if I feel I need something extra with a sandwich I eat almonds, pistachios, etc. Have cut down on portion sizes - eating LOTS of salads and I have finally learned to like vinaigrette dressings (instead of cream based ones).
Stepped up the exercise doing both strength training, HIIT, intervals, sprints and long distance running.
Starting to see what's under the layer of fat - it's slowly giving up its hold on thighs, stomach and arms allowing some nice muscles to show through. :D
I had to realize that I can be the healthiest person on earth with the best muscles, but if they are hidden by fat, then I'm (borrowing from Patty here) just a fat person who can do more things - I gotta burn the fat off & can only do that with watching what goes in mouth. All the exercise in the world will not do it for me.
I'm basically giving myself a pep talk here - reminding myself how important it is to stay in the fight, eat right, exercise and treat body with love and care. :D

Looks like you hit 157lbs, unless eyes deceived me.

I KNOW you can keep this up Lynne and I'm very proud of you. I know it's taken longer than you would have liked, for reasons some of which were avoidable on your part, but you're getting there and can be proud of never giving up on yourself and settling for second best :).

You are a real Lady through and through and it's great to finally see you achieving more of what you are capable of.

WELL DONE.

profile still says 157 - that was lowest weight I achieved in July 2010. I've just never updated profile page, I was hoping to quickly get back down to it, so no need to change it. :? Almost there! :D

thanks Jocelyn. Feeling better, but fighting a headache and cramps  I would be so happy if "change of life" would just come on and change for crying out loud - I'm 49 freakin' years old! But all I get is the dreaded night sweats and mood swings. gaahhhh!!!

Anyway, life goes on....

Today's workout:

4.0 mile treadmill run
3 miles @ steady pace / 1 mile intervals 4.0 mph / 7.0 mph

 yes sir ree, I spent a week at the inlaws in Virginia Beach - had a great time, lots of beach runs. :D

I brew green tea bags (Salada brand) and then add enough cold water to make a pitcher. I sweeten an iced tea glass full with 1 packet of Truvia. It's really helped me stay away from the sodas. :D

Welcome back, we missed you :D What is it about running on vacation that just feels so much better than a regular run?

Thanks Jocelyn! Good to be back. I think running on vacation feels better because for one it is a change of scenery. Something different to experience, new challenge, different route - and running on the coastline is always breathtaking. I've run this area every year we go visit and I love finding new little beach side roads and trails to explore, being around the "locals" and just for a little while pretending I'm one of them. 8)
I've not been able to run or workout since getting back yet, I had an allergic reaction to some antibiotics I was taking and have been sick and covered with itchy hives -  not fun! Today is the first day I have felt well enough to try, hopefully will get a workout in today.
Good to see you and Becky hitting the weights! You go girls!!

Do I ever know how you feel  Two years ago I went into anaphylaxis shock and ended up in the ER. That was a scary, scary day, I was lucky. But now I get hives pretty regulary but we still don't know what causes it. It's not fun, though! Take care - and just so you know, working out and sweating can make it worse (learned that from experience), so make sure you are done with them before you do too much!

Wow, that must have been scary! I didn't have that severe of a reaction. Just hives, itching, fever, nausea, headache and tiredness. Then the doc gives me prednisone (sp?)and benedryl to help rid me of it, but now I'm dealing with those side effects....dizzyness, tiredness, moodiness, hunger, just overall feeling crappy, and making everyone around me miserable, including myself! lol 5 more days to go....
No workout today, but will try again for tomorrow.
mind wants to go, but the body doth protest.
