Cassie,

With your skin tone and hair color red or maroon sound like GREAT options! Steer clear of golds, greens, and blacks....personally I have seen them on stage and I think they make the girls looked washed out and yucky with all the lighting. Make sure your make-up is heavy as again, the lights wash you out. I'm not a big make-up girl...but lips and eyes are huge on stage!

As far as your routine goes, for me, there were 4 different ones, as I am sure your posing coach has made you aware of. Front, side, back (the most difficult) and "relaxed"pose. The relaxed pose is far from being that...that's for sure. But focus of squeezing those quads heels together, toes pointed out a bit. Squeeze that "beach ball" in your front and back pose to show your shoulders, delts, traps, and lats. Most importantly, while your concentrating on squeezing, don't forget to BREATH! Yeh right...amongst remembering to smile, boobs out, hips flexed, tummy in, back arched, and looked relaxed. Ha ha  You are amazing and I am certain will be top 3...I just can sense it. You have trained hard, dieted gruelingly, and have stayed focused with all the other things going on in your daily life. As many others have said, you are already a winner in our eyes. No matter where you place, you have come a long way baby! Chin up, keep going...your in the homestretch!

75 days out...

Post by cassiegose »

Thanks for the advice Michele.. and the kind words. I like your new pics. :)

So as of today I'm 75 days away from the competition. I met with trainer yesterday and came away motivated, discouraged, and just a wee bit terrified. It turns out that trainer has a posing suit that she is going to let me borrow for Free!!! This is GREAT because this whole thing is getting VERY expensive. The suit is teal... very pretty. I'm planning on doing a second competition in November and will most likely have a suit made for that show. For this first one though, borrowing a suit is definitely a load off mind. With that said, I must admit at this point the suit looks MUCH prettier OFF than when I'm wearing it. YIKES! trainer made me try the suit on to make sure it would fit... I was pretty much spilling out of it. No bueno. However, while trying on the suit was discouraging (and embarassing) I'm more motivated than ever to do everything in power to get where I need to be by competition time.

I took more progress pictures this weekend and will hopefully have them up by the end of the day.

I hope all is well with everybody!

As always, keep up the good work!

Cassie :)

Girl, from looking at your pictures, you couldn't look bad in a swim suit no matter how hard you tried!! :D I'm sure you do and will look awesome! Thats great that you will not have to worry about the expense of a suit right now, and teal is a great color. Keep up the hard work! you are doing great! :D

Lol! Thanks for the compliment. The suit was just a bit tight so thats why I was spilling out. It was made for somebody about 10 lbs smaller than me. So I just need to lose 10 lbs by the time the competition rolls around. :) I'll just look at this as extra motivation.

You'll be fine Cassie. You've no reason to feel negative about anything, but it is part of the process almost certainly, for anyone in your situation, to question it, or have moments of doubt.

The main thing is it didn't seriously knock your confidence, or spoil your mindset.

Stick at it, and no worries. You're doing great. Not long to go now :).

74 days!!!!

Post by cassiegose »

Not much to report today. Diet has been going well and training has been awesome.

Last night I had a dream that I ate a GIANT cinnamon roll that was covered in frosting. I woke up this morning in a PANIC because I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to fit into posing suit. I'm losing mind.

I had a dream about Sausages once, which culminated in an image of giant sausage. I woke up around 7AM, thinking, I could just go for a bit of Sausage right now, then realised the time, and thought, actually no I couldn't .

I like Sausage sometimes, but not that time in the morning.

This is so funny! About two weeks from competing, I had this dream that I was forced to eat french fries and milkshake by kids cause they said they didn't love me anymore and were sick of diet. I remember waking up in a cold sweat and husband said I was talking in sleep saying... I just can't eat that but if it means you'll love me again...I'll eat all you want. Thing I can't figure out is I'm really not much of a frenchfry or milkshake girl. The mind plays nasty tricks on you...but no need to worry Cassie! You will do just great and don't sweat the whole suit thing. It took you months to bulk....you'll lean out beautifully come competition day...trust me

This is hilarious Michele! I'm cracking up! I've had a lot of food dreams lately. The other night I also had a dream that ex-boyfriends mom was getting ready to do a show and I told her that i was also training for one and she laughded at me and told me that butt was WAY too big and i'd never fit into suit... This happened the night after I tried on the posing suit so i'm thinking it had to do with that. Man I must really be consumed by this competition if i'm even dreaming about it! :)

73 days out!

Post by cassiegose »

No exciting news to report today. Its "higher" carb day... I guess thats something to be excited about as I get to eat an extra bowl of oatmeal today. Usually I'm VERY ready for some extra carbs by the time higher carb day rolls around because the previous 3 days are pretty low carb days. Today...well as of right now anyways... I'm feeling pretty good. Not craving carbs like I usually am. Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. This diet has definitely taught me to eat for energy and not for taste. Its also really taught me to eat until i'm satisfied instead of until i'm completely stuffed. Lastly, I've noticed that I get full alot quicker than I used to. These are all definitely good things!

For training... had a super hard plyometric leg workout this morning and pretty much felt like legs were going to fall off by the time i was done. I'll be going back on lunch break for another 45 minutes of cardio.... which has actually been nice because I use that 45 minutes on the elliptical to study for personal trainers cert.

Thats all for now... more tomorrow. :)

Oh Yeah....those dreams are ferocious...and unfortunately, they will get worse b4 they get better. The night b4 I competed, I had a dream that hubby got me to the competition, we went up to the door, it was locked. I started running around the building in posing suit trying to get in the building screaming at the top of lungs...Are you kidding me!!! Let me in dammit!!!. To no avail..I woke up again in a pool of sweat and laid there in bed, sleepless, only to get up earlier than I had originally planned. I was the first one in line to get into the building that day I competed.

72 days!

Post by cassiegose »

Thanks Ironwill for the compliment. :) I still have a LONG ways to go... but its nice to look back and see the progress that i've made.

Nokie... Hey girl! Yes, I definitely will need "beauty" rest the day before the competition. However, I have issues with sleep and have frequent bouts of insomnia. Whenever something big is happening in life its pretty much a guarentee that I will have issues sleeping in the weeks before. And the more that i need sleep for something... the harder it will be for me to fall asleep. I do pretty well on little sleep though so it will be just fine.

So today I am 72 days out. The scale keeps dropping gradually.. I just hope that i'll be ready by the day of the show! Saturday I will be 10 weeks out... in some ways 10 weeks seems like a long time, yet in other ways 10 weeks kind of makes me panic as it is truly just around the corner. 2 1/2 months. I hope body continues to respond like it has been.

This weekend I will be taking a mini-vacation with best friend... going camping. :) I'm excited.... and concerned at the same time. I REALLY need a vacation... yet I know that it will be very hard to maintain this strict diet while there. There will be a rodeo and huge party going on both nights that we will be there... lots of drinking going on. Luckily bf is also training for a show (bikini division) so she is also on a fairly strict diet and she understands that I won't be able to drink and will be in bed early both nights. I'm planning on packing a ton of healthy foods, getting in a good workout tomorrow before I leave, and getting in another good workout on sunday when i get back. We'll see how it goes! At this point, I can't afford to make any mistakes in diet.

We'll see out how it goes....
