Afternoon sisters,

YAH mmmm mouth is watering reading about that steak and baked potato...one of favs especially with a yummy salad....some romaine lettuce, tomatoes, radishes (back in the day something else I can't eat now), scallions, avocado with some ranch dressing....

You wouldn't need a jacket here that's for sure. Enjoy your days off. Blow away as it's still HOT.

Thanks, YAH yes I did nap well. I see I have you to thank for those grocery shopping wishes and all those sales. Hope DH and son got the bike rack off and the hitch on and it works better for DS. Sorry you missed him, but glad to see you got in a sauna and for 3 hours too...good for you.

Unfortunately not better Molasses, but such is life, had to shop and it was a good one at least. Well I gotta say Molasses, you are better than me. I would have said something right at the beginning as to the number of workers, and them going for the equipment, not me, as I am "paying you" to do the work....PERIOD. I'd be calling the BBB for sure.

Bama, great workout and have fun tomorrow.

Glad you got your workout in Molasses.

YAH I will be thinking of you and hope work isn't too bad. Hope you got to see your son too. Wishing him the best on the new job. I am with you YAH I wouldn't leave anyone in house either if I wasn't there.

I see you and I had the same thoughts Bossman.

Well off to meds, breathing and nap time.

Have a wonderful Independence Day,

Sue

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy 4th of July again:) Went sleep at probably 10 pm and got up at 2:30 a.m as couldn't fall back asleep so some good hrs. anyway. Now, time is rolling by and I'm packing some stuff to maybe go watch the gkids when their sleeping hopefully while son and wife get to watch the fireworks. then I will probably sleep in camper over other son's house closer to work so I can sleep a little longer also:) Might take a nap after work there also:) Sunday after work will not come soon enough:)
Sue, I'm glad your shopping trip went well and sure hope you feel better also. older son's knee is giving him some trouble too. He goes back to work Mon. and middle son has 3 more days of work and he's all done with that job. Next weekend is the wedding then. He's been busy and I sure hope he finds a nice place but not too expensive also in GB. First his training will be FT so a good sleep is important I think for early days then.
Chris, Bama, Mo, Neomax, Bossman and Sue, enjoy your weekend to the fullest no matter what you do with it  Lets hope for no bad things to happen also anywhere. C U, :coffee:

Morning sisters,

Image

Happy 4th of July I started day with watching THOR show the LA Dodger's what's what LOL....one hitter had a look of shock on his face as that ball came in went up and dropped....shades of Doc Gooden......it was just marvelous LOL So running late now as I watched the whole recap of all 9 innings. Chuck came out with the towels and came in the computer room and said to me "aren't we doing towels today and I was so engrossed in the game, I forgot to do normal Saturday morning routine....oh well it's done now. LOL

YAH, wish you had gotten more sleep but did pretty good 4.5 hours. I fell asleep before Chuck came in last night too. Tired after a busy day. Oh how nice you might get to watch the gkids while your son and DIL go to watch the fireworks. Sounds like a wonderful weekend.

Thanks on the shopping and I feel for your son. Mine is doing a bit better, but I will be happy when it's back to normal. I see other son's are busy too.

You too, have a wonderful weekend.

Bama, have a good time. I do miss swimming. We have two pools here and a spa but not an option anymore. I used to teach kids to swim for many years, in fact taught both brother and sister too. I was a "fish" as a kid as dad called me. But he had me in the ocean at 2 years of age and let me go and mother nearly had a heart attack on shore screaming at hear (I was told by dad). He yelled back she's fine. I was paddling by 3 years of age and by age 4, swam like most adults. I used to embarrass the guys (girls weren't life guards back then) that tested for being lifeguards as I knew all the instructors and could "kick butt" on the test so when the big muscled who thought they were just the greatest thing would test, Danny would let me do thing and was very embarrassing to have a 14 year old 100 pound girl kick the butt of 170+ guys LOL

Well thanks for that memory. Made day.

I see a great workout for you.

I have to figure out plan for July today.

Well off to get the day started, bathrooms to be done and eggs are cooking up, off to check them.

Happy Independence Day, American Sisters!

Got strength training in this morning. :) Tomorrow I'll need to come up with a new plan for July.

You're right, Boss Man, about the handyman being fishy. He annoyed me further by taking all the "leftovers" of the stuff I paid for--screws, nails, caulk, etc--but I am just going to focus on the fact that the two tasks got done and let the rest go. :sunshine: I will absolutely be looking for a new handyman though.

Sounds like you are having a good day, Sue!

How are you liking yoga, Bama? Are you using a DVD? Have fun at the pool party!

Sounds like a nice plan for you, YAH!

We are just hanging out today. I'll make a semi-picnic dinner later (chicken, corn on cob, bean dip, sweet potato salad and fruit salad). Now the kids are at the gym, and DH is watching the hot dog eating contest. I already made the sweet potatoes and they are yummy--sauteed in a little coconut oil with onion and garlic, spiced with cumin, paprika, chile powder and lime juice, sprinkled with chopped cilantro. :D

Wishing everyone a lovely Saturday~

Evening Sisters, It will soon be dark and I know we will be hearing a lot of fireworks . Always some in the neighborhood. In Ohio they are not allowed to have at home . I guess they are here since they sell them in the grocery stores. I don't know the rules any longer since the children have grown up and moved away.
The guys went to Florida for some lottery scratch offs and I won hundred dollars We all take turns scratching them off. Total we won roughly two hundred . Was trying for 5000 a week for life but didn't get it . LOL WE ended up skipping the Elks and went to Marie and Gregs instead. It was nice just the four of us .

Mo, I like Yoga . At least the one I did today . I have a couple move Dvd's one by Kathy Smith that I will try , maybe in the am . No plan for July as of yet should work on that tomorrow .

Sue I am reading the second book in the Men of the Sisterhood series. I have the first two on Kindle . The frist was about getting the Brotherhood started and I just started the second one but they have decided on who to take down. LOL I'm glad I brought back some memories for you . I never did learn to swim . I've always been afraid of water. I think maybe in another life that is how I died. Gross what a morbid thought

Hi, Yah I know you are enjoying those babies.

Chris , hope you had a wonderful weekend and another day left .

Hi sisters,

Well later than usual but here's June report and workout plan for July.......

June was great month, till the last week which really was July but it was still the end of June week and workout week for June. So from July 1 through 3 (the last 3 days of the monthly routine was a NO WORKOUT zone....bummer but can't exercise with a bad knee that's in excruciating pain.

Feels better, except for a twinge now and then and for walking for July I won't be doing any light jogging in place or high leg lifts in place either, just walking and a bit of dancing. So I am a very happy camper otherwise with the month of June. In addition, still doing great with the veggies in plus more fish and looking to try to get even more fish in too. In addition, still on track with chocolate for the month. Did not do well with the PB this month. Plus I need to buy some new PB. daily fruit was great with lunch, plus in breakfast too. Got Vitamin D for the month as always with fish and daily dosage too.

For July will go back to basics with weights and full body workouts On MWF mornings with Prevention's Upper and Lower Body workouts. 12 reps for each exercise (2 sets) - Modified push up, Single arm row, reverse fly, Seated leg lift, inner thigh lift, chair squat, outer thigh lift and abdominal crunch. For evening workouts I will do Men's Workouts abdominal workouts - pull ins, twisting reaches, stiffed legged reaches, side bends, opposite extensions, power crunches and straddle crunches

Tuesday and Thursday for the month I will do walking/dancing.

Food goals: Food goals remain the same...continue to take vitamin D, and keep up the increase in the fruits and veggies in diet, and try some different type of veggies, which we have been doing well with. Also continue to try out some different recipes, which had been going very well but slipped up a bit and have to get back on the stick. Plus continue with the getting in chocolate several times a week. Didn't do well with the PB this month and need to buy some so I can get back on the stick. Doing great on our cutting down on the ice cream. Now just need to get on the stick and make up some fruit based desserts. Our soups mixed with egg noodles are working out great giving up lots of veggies and the sauce is already included; in addition to getting 2 dinners out of a can. Plus tummy likes it too LOL We are going to start to have them over rice, and other types of noodles, like little farfalle and ditalini pasta too.

Trying to continue a variety of foods in our diet. In addition with the warmer weather some cold salads too. Doing very well getting fish into diet having it on most Friday's; along with some veggies too. I still have some left of salmon fillets, and fillets with Alaskan Pollock and will also be adding some crab and lobster for lunches and maybe even dinners for the Summer months.. In addition to the other frozen pasta dinners we will be making up for ourselves, and we are bound and determined over the next 2 months to get the pastry dinners made up we wanted to try. We are determined to get the pastry sheets next month and plus also want to make up some calzones too with our pizza dough. Plus off our duffs and make up our ravioli too! Seems like time just goes by too quickly LOL

Congrats on a good June, Sue! Looks like a good plan for July, too. I'm glad your knee is feeling better. One way I get chocolate in is to use a spoonful of cacao powder in coffee once in awhile; just an idea in case you like mocha flavoring. :) (If you try it though, you have to put the cacao or cocoa powder into the bottom of the cup and stir in just a smidge of coffee to start--if you try to stir it into a full cup of coffee, it won't incorporate.)

Yay on the scratch off wins, Bama! Glad you are enjoying yoga. I think it's so good for us, helping us stay flexible and improve our balance as we age.

Hope your work day goes well, YAH, and then you get some fun in afterward. :)

We heard a ton of fireworks last night. Despite the fact that they are illegal in NJ (even sparklers!), a bunch of people around here were going crazy for hours. Poor Chief was so anxious. The Thundershirt really helps take the edge off, but it's not a total cure. I don't mind the noise other than it terrifies so many dogs.

Well, the kids left this morning after a big send-off breakfast. I''ll miss the critters, but it made heart happy to see how thrilled Chiefy was when he realized he wasn't being left behind this time. :)

I did some gardening this morning: pulling weeds, tying up tomatoes, harvesting some radishes. And I washed sheets and towels and hung them out. Now that I'm done with all that, I think I'm going to take a bath, give myself a pedicure, and then just read for awhile, and maybe figure out plan for July. I have enough leftovers that I won't have to dinner tonight. I do want to try cooking the radishes though--I saw where someone said you can saute the sliced radishes in butter and then add the greens for a few minutes at the end so I wanted to try that.

Have a great Sunday, everyone~

Evening Sisters, MO I know you are going to miss Chief and the Kids. But Darn it they all have to grow up and move away . DD and family are on the way to Piegeon Fordge and although she had been moved out for a while I told her to call me when she got there. Mommies still worry no matter how old they become.

Sue glad you knee is somewhat better and great job on June. I need to sit down and make plan also.

We are taking Marie's youngest (15) to camp in the morning . About an hour away. Marie has to be in Talleessee(?) in the am and Greg can't leave work so we volunteered . It will give us something to do and I have never been to this town although I think it is a very small town and not much there but will be a nice ride.

Rained most of the day but has stopped now .

I took the day off from exercise today . Back at it tomorrow .

Going to try and include Yoga into weekly workouts . I'm sure the more I do it the more I will like it and get better at it also. Been reading a lot about it and know it is supposed to be very good for us. That and Strength training will be priorities this july

Signing off for the evening Hope all had a lovely weekend .

Afternoon sisters,

Chris, hope your holiday and weekend is going well.

YAH I sure hope you got to do all you wanted this weekend and got to relax at the kids house.
Glad you got your strength training in Saturday, Molasses. I got real life stuff in LOL Wow that stinks too on the leftover stuff you paid for Molasses they took too.

Yes, had a very productive Saturday for me.

MMMM chicken, corn on the cob and bean dip, sweet potato salad and fruit salad sound yummy. Yeah I heard on the news that a new guy won the contest.

Bama, yeah lots of fireworks here too, safe and sane or not...I'd rather they'd not with our dryer than dry conditions. Should have banned them this year. The big events going on are at least using lasers.

Molasses and Bama, I like yoga too. In fact I should pull the ones I have out and do them again, thanks for the thought.

Oh Bama, I am so jealous I'd love to read the Men from the Sisterhood....love Jack and the guys but don't have a kindle and while the 3rd one is available in print form, I would like to read numbers 1 and 2 first.

So will have to stick with the girls, plus if I order right I should have 2 for Christmas or at least 1 for and 1 for after.

Wow Bama, cool on the scratch offs. We have new ones here that are front and back. We don't buy them, but glad you did so well with them. Yeah we live in eternal hope was winning one of the two biggies here but I don't hold out any get hopes LOL

Thanks Molasses, yes I was very happy with June and the July one is a couple oldies but goodies. LOL Oh what a great idea on the coffee, thank you. Speedy tracks is supposed to be year round now so I should get chocolate in each month LOL

Oh poor Chief Molasses. Buddy Max was alright in the early years but not in his later ones. Mr. Bo (the doggie that came with Chuck) didn't like them. However, "the original Marley....aka Alex and Brandy too slept through them. LOL Nothing bothered those two. Same goes for Cassidy, our Ridgeback....just woke her up sometimes and she'd growl LOL

Ah love the picture you painted of Chief going off with his mom and dad!

I see you were busy....oh I so miss radishes...can't eat them anymore but dad and I would pick them back in the day, wash them with the hose and eat them LOL

Sounds like some lovely "me time" yes I did pedicure and now toe nails match flip flops and dress today LOL a lovely sapphire blue with a hint of sparkle in it. Oh the sautéed radishes sound delicious made that way.

Well I am finally off line to go play some games. And GOOD NEWS GOOD NEWS THE METS KICKED DODGER BUTT AGAIN....hmmm can ya tell I'm still better than left the wonderful city of NY LOL

Good Morning Sisters,

Well we didn't have to take the trip this morning to the camp. Seems they over booked and he couldn't go . He is so disappointed . He went in June and when he got home wanted to go back so was accepted at the last moment .

Ethel and Lucy are busy this morning and plan on some yard work. Our Century plant is so huge and has pups (little starts) everywhere that I am going out to dig some up and sit them by the curb and someone will come and get them if not the City will pick them up on Thursday. A lady up the street has two huge ones in her yard and they have bloomed this year. Something to see if you have never seen one. I did take a picture but don't know how to post on here. They are supposed to die after they bloom so will be watching to see it that happens . Mine is huge but hasn't bloomed yet .

Sue I didn't get to finish the second book as on the kindle you can only keep them for two weeks . These came from the library though Amazon.
I will take it out again before Istart on the third one

Mo, Sweet potato salad , never heard of that . Will have to look it up.

Chris hope you had a nice weekend and Yah you too . I know you went to your sons and you always enjoy that .

Hi Diane if your are reading. .

Well Lucy just finished so I best get Ethel ready.

Oh workout this morning was 60 minutes of Cardio and Strength . I hate lunges but i got though them . :D

Hey All I am back again!! Well Canada day was okay but for some reason we were all tired. We did scoot out for the fireworks. They did a good job this year. Thursday I started eating healthy and drinking lots of water, but I wasn't feeling just right. So... I ended up having a gastrointestinal bug that put me out all day friday. I just slept and read. Saturday I took it a bit easy though I did get a 30 minute walk in. Sunday I hit the streets early and walked for an hour. It was a lovely morning!! We are now into our summer weather. We took the kids to the wading pool saturday and sunday afternoon. They had a blast playing and splashing!

I haven't read all the posts yet.

Oh just a quick note Mom finally got out of the hospital after three weeks!!

Morning sisters,

For today....Prevention's Upper and Lower Body workouts for this morning and Men's Workout abdominal routine for this evening

Stomach is still killing me so am going to try Pepto Bismol today. Wish me luck.

Dianna if you stop by HI!

Sorry about the camp Bama, I see a busy day ahead though. No I don't think I have seen one Bama. You could take some pics and send them to me LOL

You need to put your picture somewhere. PhotoBucket etc and then right click on the picture and copy image location and then come here and select image and it will give you a img/img with brackets around it; just paste the link you copied in between the and it will post.

Very easy.

Bummer on not finishing the book, glad you are enjoying them, they sound interesting and I love the guys in the main story. Such is life I guess.

Great workout, Bama. Yes me too on the lunges not a fan and neither are knees.

Chris, glad Canada day for OK and yeah tired people here too. Glad you got to see the fireworks. Stupid people here caused numerous fires shooting off illegal ones and a good number of animals ran away from home since they don't bother to watch them any better than they do their kids. GRRRRRR I won't even get started.

Oh Chris, you and I sound like we are in the same boat on the stomach issues. Glad you are doing better. I see you got some awesome walks in Saturday and Sunday. I see the kids have a fun time swimming. Oh I am so happy to hear your mom is out of the hospital, Chris. Doing HAPPY DANCE!

Molasses, hope your day goes well.

YAH hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Well I am off to check mail, eat, workout and it's a paperwork day off line...

Have a good day,

Sue

Happy Monday, Sweat Sisters,

Strength training for me today. Still haven't come up with new routine for July, but hoping to get to that tonight.

Hope the Pepto helped, Sue. Hugs on the bum tummy. I can't understand how someone could leave a pet outside on the 4th so it could possibly run away, but some pets did not win the lottery in regard to responsible owners. :( Thanks for the wishes for the day--so far, so good! I am getting things done. :) The radishes were good--the spiciness mellowed out with the cooking. Sparkly sapphire toenails sound lovely! I took off turquoise and put on fuschia.

Sorry your weekend was marred by the bug, Chris, but glad you are feeling better now. Yay on your mom getting sprung!

I don't think I've ever seen a century plant bloom either, Bama, but glad you got to! Bummer on the camp thing for Marie's son. The sweet potato was good cold, but I liked it better hot from the pan, so next time will serve it warm: http://www.forageddish.com/blog/2015/6/ ... 1-42882049

Guess break is over, and I'd better get back to work.

Afternoon sisters,

Stopping by before I do meds, breathing, nap routine...

Molasses, great workout. I skipped the Pepto.....No me either Molasses, and I really think you need to be "tested" before you can take a pet. However, look at how the ignore their kids today so it certainly doesn't surprise me. I think they should have to be tested before they could do that too LOL

Hmmmm maybe a bunch bought and sauteed might be worthwhile....I will cogitate on it LOL

LOL fuschia is next for me too.

Sounds like a busy day for you too, Molasses.

Well I am off......

Sue
