I also want to point out that I am not trying to play Devil's Advocate here, I love getting the feedback from everyone. I am not just trying to shoot down any advice that is given to me, I respect it all (and I do agree with it!) and I always take it into consideration. So please don't give up on giving me advice, I know I need it  Right now I just need to keep myself afloat!

Lynne nailed a very important factor. You don't see what is going on inside. Some people can when losing weight, get a scale fixation, whereby they become oblivious to the potential changes in things like Cardiovascular and skeletal condition, because it isn't visable. Also exercise can cut the risk of strokes, Cancer, heart attacks and brain disorders, but that is extremely difficult to ascertain anyway, because logically how can you prove you've got a reduced stroke risk for example, short of getting things like blood pressure and Cholesterol tests?

Also have you considered that maybe you lost a bit of weight, but put some muscle on? If you did the weights and you increased them, or even just stimulated hypertrophy, you would then be losing more fat than around the 0.8lbs reported, but you'd be adding a little back through muscle.

I know it must be frustrating sometimes and I can totally empathise with you.

I'm sending you a BIG HUG, because I am completely behind you and I am pushing for you and I know how much you want to succeed at this.

You are an absolute sweetheart Jocelyn and I can testify that when you feel at a low ebb like this, it resonates in your words and I feel it and sense it a little bit too, so you're certainly in understanding and empathetic company, because you like others, DO have a way of expressing hurt or upset in a beautiful way, so it does resonate and it does touch others like me.

I know you don't mean to come across as in any way negative to us, or dispresectful, so you don't need to apologise for anything ever and I'm politely declining, because I don't want to be rude by accepting unnecessary apologies from a Lady :).

If you need to, drop me a discreet message and I'll be back in touch when I can :).

In the mean time do what you feel is best and don't worry if it's not necessarily what some suggested. I'm not here to force advice or suggestions down peoples throats, I'm just here to explain things and offer the suggestions; you must do whatever you feel is best.

I'm also sorry you felt upset and started to cry, but the fact you've been persevering as you say for 1.5 years and maybe more, before coming here, is something to be truly proud of and I'm VETY, VERY PROUD OF YOU for never giving up on yourself and for believing you had more human value and worth, to want to persue it longer than 6-8 novice weeks.

Considering the point I made at the top of message, I confident you're achieving a lot more than you're giving yourself credit for and I want you to be proud of the internal achievements too, not just the cosmetic external ones, because they represent the effort you've made for so long now, effort that comes from continued self belief and treating your body and life like the precious things they are.

So if you cry, they deserve to be happy, proud tears sweetheart, not sad I'm a screw up tears, because you're NOT screwing up, you're doing GREAT, truly, truly GREAT and I WILL stick up for and defend your right to be proud of yourself, because you've earned that right, even if maybe you don't feel that or see that about yourself.

So keep pushing and keep believing. Weight loss can sometimes appear a little meagre, but if there's muscle growth and conenctive tissue strengthening and bone strengthening / thickening, then there's good reason(s), to not be down about seemingly meagre weight loss totals per week.

Maybe that is what you're experiencing, but whatever happens, keep believing in yourself like we all do for you too. You don't need to explain why you comment on what we say, because we know you well enough to know, you're far too beautiful inside to be offhand, dismissive, negative or anything like that to us, because you're not the type okay :).

So chin up, best wishes, keep believing and no worries yeah :).

THANK YOU for being you :).

You are ACE!!!!!

You guys are all awesome :D

No workout last night, I had an appointment. Tonight I did the elliptical, random hill, level 9 for 30 minutes.

I was a little worried I wasn't going to make it to the gym tonight. I found myself with a migraine this morning and had to take an Imitrex :( That stuff makes me feel like each limb weighs about 200 pounds  And it leaves an overall yucky feeling (although better than the migraine). But I felt better towards the end of the day so I went anyway. I felt fine during the workout, but now that I am done I am feeling a bit funky. Now I have about three hours more work to put in so I'm off!

I'm having a little argument with myself in head  I want to go home after work, I am exhausted, and still have to take care of parent's business bookwork tonight (I am doing their work while they are in Alaska for 2 months, I am an accountant, so go figure, I get stuck with that task :| ).

I feel like I have the little angel/devil on shoulders. On left shoulder is the thin me wearing spandex workout clothes urging me to go to the gym, saying "You're doing so well, don't lose your momentum! Keep it up, go to the gym, you will feel so much better when you are done :D ." On right shoulder is the overweight me wearing sweatpants and an oversized sweatshirt, eating a pint of ice cream, saying "Eh, just go home, relax, you deserve it - put your feet up, take the night off, order in tonight and enjoy  ."

Is this normal

Completely! That was so funny! I totally do the same thing. And to tell ya the truth, both options sound pretty darn good!! So, if you are more inclined to do option #2 (right shoulder you), then make sure you do option #1 first (left shoulder you)! You'll feel so much better after you get that workout done!

Left shoulder me won :D I kept picturing the overweight me sitting on right shoulder and it repulsed me enough to want to go to the gym

30 minute elliptical, random hill, level 10 (it was a killer tonight). I really struggled through the whole thing. I wasn't really paying attention to the settings because I was watching the news, but it took so much more energy tonight. Then I looked down and realized that almost half of the "random hills" were at levels 18 to 20  Now I guess I know why I struggled  But I burned a LOT more calories than I have been.

I am really glad Left Shoulder Me won

Tonight I tried the treadmill again. I was bound and determined to run for a full 30 minutes but I was a little weary that it would hurt shins. Once I started I just kept going. I made it the full 30 minutes (not including warm up and cool down) but the best part was that it didn't hurt shins :D YAY!

I started noticing this weekend a pair of capris are starting to not fit quite right. I had our company picnic on Saturday and I took two of nephews. It was disgustingly hot and I had a hard time keeping pants up  I actually thought it was just because it was so hot and muggy, but I am wearing them today and I caught a glimpse in the mirror and they don't look very good, rather sloppy! Now, that is obviously a good thing, but it is difficult to be in the in between stages of clothes! Now I don't fit into smaller clothes, but these are getting too big so I guess I will have to deal with baggy clothes for a while!!!

You'll end up like one of those people that has a bit of peekaboo hip sticking out at the top of the trousers, becasue they buy ones that might be a touch too wide at the hips, so they slip down to where the hips peak, girth wise

 That's kind of how these pants were feeling today - not too bad yet, though! Since I was at work it is a good thing shirt was long enough to keep it hidden
