Thank you all so very much. Your support is always a huge motivator. Means a lot to me.
The recipe for the soup was 2 14oz bags of frozen broccoli, 2 cans of Campbells cheese soup, 2 cans of evaporated milk, 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper. To me it tasted a little blan so I added lemon and herb spice to taste and shredded cheddar cheese on top. Gave it the oomph it needed. put it on low for 8 to 10hrs.
So I woke up at 12am with a tummy ache. Pretty much a wake up call from body. As u know I have had a lot of health issues and the past 4 months I was basically laid up sleeping. Over that time I turned to comfort food with sure as hell hasn't helped the energy level. So since I woke up I decided to break out them dumbbells. I then made a 24x18 chart titled get it together. A side quote saying "remember who you achieved so far. The fight isn't over unless you say it is". I will write down everyday what I do. I have to make sure I get cardio everyday since I sit all day. I want to develop these habits now before school starts again. So I will have rest days be the same as school days since those are 18hr days!!!! After work today I am going to the store and stock back up on the healthy food. I have a month to get these habits started so there is no time to waste.i feel like crap all around and I hate not having that energy anymore. I know the issues that came up took a big toll on me. But with finally getting over pneumonia And foot getting better, it's time to get back into gear. It is a downer to have to start back at the bottom bc I noticed upper body strength weaken a lot! I just don't want to continue down this path and wait until things get to the extreme to do something about it. So I want to create a day of each week I think Sunday will be best, to hold myself accountable to posting on here. That's what I miss about that weight loss class bc it was something I had to go to. Plus, I want to make sure I do the work so I don't post about how lazy I decided to be instead lol. I will make this Sunday the first post. I know when school starts up I'm going to need to figure out how to juggle the homework and workouts. I will try not to worry about that now and just focus on getting back on track first and take it a step at a time.
I know you can do this Christina, because I know you've got what it takes. You just need to believe in yourself and you just need to remember that you have the potential to be even more amazing than you already are .
Thank you!!!! today I will be going to the store to restock the fridge. I'm going to look up some new recipes to try. If anyone on here some some of their favorite healthy ones that they suggest, feel free to send them way! I'd love to give em a try.
Happy sunday! Today is first check in. I had braved the winter storm yesterday morning and went to the store and re stocked the fridge. Fruits and veggies and turkey. So far I have done weights on friday, zumba yesterday and today will be weights again. Excited to get back on track!!! This was a short check I post but not that much time has passed since I made the decision to go back full steam ahead lol
I really hope this works out for you Christina, as I can appreciate the past few months will not have been easy, but if you keep persevering and believing in yourself, you can achieve great things, because until you problems arose, you were doing grewat and losing weight and running races and I know you can be that person again.
I'm sending you a BIG HUG, because I'm proud of you for never giving up on yourself and for believing in yourself. you're a wonderful human being and a touching character and I hope you find the greater happiness you are worth and we as a community have always been here to support you and we want you to succeed because you ARE worth it .

Sounds like you are still on track. Juicers are the a great way to , imo. Hope you had a nice holiday Rockchick!
U can only guess...I got sick. ..again. sore throat however I am doing better now. I have been taking probiotics for close to a week now to help improve immune system. I hope it helps. I also have good news. ..gym membership today and went back for the first time in months! It's the first workout in four months since I hurt foot. I did two miles. I did some internals, then a 15 I Cline backwards. I even jogged for 20 mins too. The feeling was amazing. I am so happy to see be able to jog. I was scared to increase the speed bc of the foot but I did it. The other day I went on the scale and cried. Since I have been out if school I went from 224 to 239! Wtf! I realized it's because I'm not walking anymore on campus or from the parking structure to work bc of below zero temps. The lack of movement killed me. So the first thing I did today was buy a membership until the summer. I can't fall any further behind. I know I have been struggling health wise the last 6 months and bills that follow from doc and er blah blah keep reminding me. Today was first day back. No not a resolution like most who start now, it was just timing for me. So we shall see how it goes. I also started food journal up again.
Crazy how much of that weight was water. So I stepped into the scale this morning and it went down 4 pounds from last nites workout. I know darn well that was water weight. Random post today but that honestly shocked me.
Whatever happens Christina, I am so proud of you for never giving up on yourself. You are an amazing, amazing Lady. You've been through so much in recent years personally, physically and emotionally, but you're still here fighting and keeping that self belief.
You have run races and succeeded in your own way and you've shown people that you can be inspiring and just what sort of a beautiful, beautiful person you are inside and out and I know you can achieve what you want, because you ARE capable and you ARE worth it .
As for the sickness you could try using Glutamine and / or Vit C as well as the probiotics.
If you have issues with regular C try buffered, but I'd go for 500mg - 1g either in the morning, or morning and night.
Thank you so much boss man. I tell you, the feeling of being back in that after so long, was amazing! Next friday I am signing up for two races to train for. Can't wait! One of them a friend is going with me but the other I'm doing alone.
So, as I was writing in journal I never thought to look back in it. I have a few pages from a couple yrs ago in a book I'm using now, and I noticed days when I had high carb intake, weight would go up 3 pounds and take days to go back down. We even when all I ate was 2 slices of pizza. I know it breaks down into sugar which turns into fat, but is it also causing water retention? These are white carbs not whole wheat. It was a pattern I happened to of caught when looking. Any idea what body is doing to react this way?
Excess carbs can be turned into fat and certain hormones like leptin, adiponectin and ghrelin can influence this and leptin is known to be decreased in weightier people, which is a hormone I believe influences satiety by aiding fat burning.
Water retention can be caused by excessive salt in the diet and this can also influence edema, (excess fluid in the legs).
Salt can be used in a bread making process, so if you were eating a lot of bread and pizza carbs, the salt intake you have might have been having, could have been elevated by such foods.
Also higher salt can elevate blood pressure, because of the arterial strain the excess water could be causing.
This could cause another issue, because if you have less arterial space for blood ot flow, blood will take longer to circulate, so vital oxygen for the brain and organs and muscles won't circulate as quickly which would not be good for exercise or VO2 max, (the amount of oxygen per kg of muscle a person uses in a minute), so you might have experienced some water retention from eating certain carbs, not necessarily a spike in fat retention.
