That second one looks a bit insane.

Still it could be worse; being called the electric run it could have been something where people run a course and have to avoid being tasered and if you're tasered you're out of the race and can't continue to participate, assuming you were physically able to still get up and run anywhere

Obviously looking at the video it isn't like that.

Thank you both. :)

Lol one Co worker thought the same thing when I told her electric run. I laughed so hard.

So today I stepped on the scale, 6 pounds lost. :) I also went out to up grade 2 yr old shoes. I can't wait to use them!

Nice shoes! Asics are a good brand. Nothing better than that first run in new shoes! :D

Thank you :) I never heard of them before. I went to try on a bunch of them and I couldn't get over how the support felt. I them read reviews on it before buying it and they were all positive. Plus they were so colorful! Lol I can't wait until tomorrow to try them out.

this is a pic from a workout i did four days ago. i dont know what machine this is but wow! it is amazing! something new i will be adding in for sure!

today i did just over 3miles on the treadmill. the first 20mins was interval training. then after that i jogged at a 4.5speed. by the time i did cool down it was an hour. i am shocked at how fast i am getting to where i left off. i am hoping by the end of the month i will be jogging 3miles straight with out the interval training. we will see. :)

It's an Arc Trainer. Similar to an elliptical but a little more advanced I think. Great workout tool!

I don't really use many cardio mnachines, but if I reall correctly an elliptical and an arc trainer differ in that an elliptical mimics the lower body actions of a cross country skiier, whereas a cross trainer utilises a pendulum type effect with the lower body, so imagine standing on a couple of swings in a park and then both legs swinging independatly of one another.

Obviously don't try that, as park swings will have more ROM than an arc trainer and wouldn't be as stable, so you could injure yourself quite badly :P.

Thank you both. :)

I went on the bike tonite and did just over 10 miles in an hr. However I'm kind of disappointed in the calorie burn be case it was less than 200. I think next time I will increase the resistance. Instead of just sticking to the treadmill like before, I'm hopping around each time with a new one to mix it up. So I don't get bored with it.

Good Luck with the duathlon! i have no suggestions really on training except to practice some brick workouts where you bike than run. or run than bike whatever way the duathlon is. I think they are usually biking first than running. I'm sure you will do great at it. :)
