Thanks Becky :)

I posted another picture of me on our trip to South Dakota in June. This was around heaviest. I have been avoiding posting anything that shows how much I have gained, but I figured what the heck

***Stewie was getting a bath on our trip because he rolled in fresh buffalo poo  It was bigger than him

Stewie is so cute! You guys look like you have so much fun on your trips. :)

I've been the same way. I just show head shots of myself not the body.

We all have the same struggle. Your exactly right what the heck. :) I don't know why it bugs me so much myself. :? I think i'm just embarrassed. I will one of these days too! I'm a pretty shy person about some things. And i haven't been this heavy for very long so i am quite embarrassed of what i look like right now. :(

Your doing really well and the weight loss will happen for you just like it did last year. :) No worries Jocelyn. :D :D

I only lost .4 this week, but I will take it. It hasn't been a great week for food and it is that time of the month, so I guess it's not bad! That puts me at a total of 7.4.

I am really frutsrated, though. I have a coworker who is also trying to lose and this week she gained. She is mad at me because she says "you are the only person I know who can eat a lot and still lose weight, you eat all day!" OK, no reason to get mean about it :x I tried telling her that her body is going into starvation because she isn't getting enough calories, and she is eating the wrong foods. She starts the day with either a muffin or nothing. For lunch it is generally Nerds or Sprees, or some other sort of candy she munches on all day. She also has at least 4 bottles of Diet Mt Dew (and that is just at work) each day. Then for dinner she will do a lettuce salad, no protein. When I mentioned to her that she isn't going about it the right way (and I did it very nicely, I must say) she said, "yeah, well, a calorie is a calorie."

It is one thing to be frustrated with not losing weight, but when she attacks me and tries to make me feel bad about it that is a whole different story. She doesn't exercise and she eats like crap, yet she is in denial about why she gained weight this week. I hate to complain, but I just needed to vent!

Just take it as a compliment. If ever.. you can say... “Thank you. Calories are calories but I get nutrition from all meals because I eat the right food every time!"...then add… Now what, B***** !!! to the end… J/K about the end part… LOL :P

That's funny!

I kind of believe in a calorie for a calorie. But she does sound like she is undereating and that is probably like you said why she isin't doing well. Either that or she is overeating more than you realize and she just isin't saying.

Maybe she meant it as kind of a backhanded compliment :?: I guess like Nokie was saying just take it as a compliment hopefully that is really what she meant. Congrats on the .4 everything counts!

Screw the co-worker. If she can't listen to reason, or want to understand why she might be doing things the in wrong way(s), then let her blunder on forever, or until she sees some common sense. She's not your problem after all.

I feel bad for venting because she just called me to apologize for the way she acted this morning - glad to see she is being reasonable :D

I went to the gym with the intent of running but I just couldn't bring myself to do it so I used the elliptical instead. I really need to get over fear of shin splints and just give it a try with old shoes and at an incline to see if it helps! I am doing a 5K on Saturday for our church but I am just walking it but it is killing me that I am not in shape to run it. I am walking with mom, so I wouldn't have run anyway, but it is hard knowing I would struggle with running it!

I personally feel nothing is wrong with doing elliptical. Sometimes when I force myself to do things… I don’t keep up with it… I tend to stick with what works for me and once in awhile I’ll try something new.

I personally think if your still working out and being active then it should be good. 5K walk is a good exercise… You might not be as fast as the others but at least your being active then sitting at home doing nothing. :P

I may have worded that wrong - I LOVE running, so it isn't about forcing myself to do it - I am just afraid of hurting myself again! I actually decided not to run last week because I knew if I got shin splints I wouldn't be able to do the 5K with mom. So I stuck with the elliptical instead.

We did the 5K yesterday morning and mom did awesome! She has pulmonary fibrosis and possibly pulmonary hypertension, so we weren't sure if she would make it the entire 5K. We started out at the back of the pack and ended up pretty much at the front of the pack :D I was so proud of her!

Then last night we had nephew's b-day party - he had his party at the roller skating rink - what a blast :D Between roller skating and the 5K, I got plenty of exercise yesterday :D If you don't remember story of skiing last winter, let me just remind you that I am not the most coordinated person in the world  I was actually doing pretty good, much better than I had expected. So I guess I got a little cocky and I came up behind sister and pinched her in the butt. Big mistake :? Somehow our skates got tangled - I am not sure how she went down so gracefully, but she did. Me, not so much. It kind of felt like slow motion - left leg went forward, but right leg didn't follow. Before I knew it I was in the middle of the rink doing the splits  But it wasn't graceful, I think everyone there was laughing. And since I am not the most flexible, it all went wrong - right knee ended banging down really hard on the floor and somehow I ended up facing the opposite direction  When it happened I was laughing so hard I didn't quite realize the pain I was in, so I just got up and kept going (for 1.5 more hours!). When I took skates off I realized that I probably should have stopped when I fell. knee was the size of a baseball  It is terribly bruised and disgusting! Somehow it bruised ABOVE the kneecap too, so I must have hit pretty hard

I think it is going to be ok, I have been icing it, but I think I did a little more damage than just a briuse, so I am keeping a close eye on it. I am just glad it isn't the knee I hurt running last summer, because this could have made it much worse! But at least we had fun and of course I once again gave everyone a good laugh

Your skiing story was so funny,. LOL I seriously still think it's funny and i'm just reading about it.

Glad you had a good time at the 5K and rollerskating. You really must have fallen to have your knee bruised so much. Guess you do sound a tad uncoordingated. Just teasing. :) Practice makes perfect though. I've rollerbladed since i was 17 when rollerblades first came out and believe me i've had a few nasty falls. People use to think i was in a motorcycle accident a few times from the road burn.

Glad you enjoyed yourself and hope you heal soon!

Quick update - I gained .4 pounds this week. I'm not too worried about it, it was a rough week for food (bday party, party at house, etc...)

knee is KILLING me - from the roller skating fall  I am trying to work through the pain but I know I am not working out as hard as I would be if knee were in better shape. Oh, well, not much I can do about it now! I am going to try to sign up for a spinning class at gym next week. You have to sign up for each individual class because it is in high demand (and it's not extra $$). The only problem is that it only gives me a few minutes to get there after work and change into workout gear. I may not be able to make it in time, but will give it a try! I also want to sign up for a group strength training class, hopefully it isn't too difficult to get into!

If it really hurts bad... go get a check up maybe? Before it can get worse.
Also, Why not change at work and run to the gym? I usually change at work but still have work clothes on.
Once get to the gym locker room.. All I do it take out work clothes and run to class.
