Thanks Beachdog! I really like the bicycle crunches better than just the regular and can tell core is getting stronger. :D
As far as the bikini pics go.....well..... stomach hasn't seen any sunlight in many years!! I would most likely blind people at the beach if it was uncovered!! But still, it is a goal I am working towards. (I can always use "spray tan" )

okay, this day officially just went in the tanker, diet wise :(

boss comes up to me (me...of all people) and hands me some cash...tells me to go to our local ice cream/sweets shop - and get ice cream or what ever anybody wants - on the house!!!!! so I take down a few orders from the others...and of course I have to get something...wouldn't want to hurt bosses feelings.

A woman can only be so strong!!!!! Sending a sugar starved woman into an ice cream shop with $ is like sending a bank robber into a bank and opening the safe doors and saying "here, its all yours, go for it!"

I didn't just fall off the wagon, I DOVE gleefully, executing a perfect swan dive, and landed face first, right in the middle of an Oreo Cookie, Brownie Earthquake Sundae!!!!! OMG!!!! It was so good! The sad thing is (or maybe it was a good thing!!) I couldn't even eat half of it! It was TOO sweet, I felt a little woosy.
I will feel guilty later, probably after I calculate how many calories I just ingested.... lets see...how many planks and crunches and squats and lunges and HIIT will I need to do to make up the difference?

yeah, you got me....the REAL reason I ate the brownie sundae was so I could do more planks... :D

There may be another reason, ...but mind just went plank...er..I mean blank!!!

Are you the sort of person that would eat a Subway sandwhich and feel dirty afterwards

well, that would depend on if it had cheese on it or not.

I try to get them without cheese to save calories, but not always!
Had a roast beef w/cheese subway on wheat yesterday, but didn't feel guilty...I was HUNGRY!

Must be the summer air Lynn - as you may already know I've taken a bit of a dive lately myself...I had a piece of blueberry pie pick itself off the counter right into mouth! :(:(

I feel bloated in the tummy and feel pretty bad, hopefully getting back on track will make it go away - BUT I'm going on vacation beginning Sunday! Yikes! I never thought I would EVER say this, like I said in journal I can't wait for the winter months!

Don't get down on yourself- you've been rockin - a cheat now and then keeps you real and not in that deprived state of mind all the time.

Thanks Lu, I know what you mean about vacation foods.
We are leaving soon for a trip down to the coast and it will be hard to eat healthy as all our meals will be out. Hopefully swimming in the ocean and boogie board riding will help compensate the calories :D
When husband brought up the idea of getting away for a few days down to the beach, first thought was "what? are you nuts? what am I gonna eat!" that's pretty bad, eh?
But you are right...we will both get back on track, and in the mean time being a little off in the food dept. won't be the end of the world :)

Ohhh blueberry pie * DROOL * I ate something similar to ur sundae, though it was a piece of sons Bday cake ( ice cream cake) & the good sign is, u noticed halfway through that it was becoming unappealing to ur tastebuds.I too start to feel nauseated when I eat fatty, sugary foods, so I avoid them ;) Not cos id feel guilty, jus cos they make me ill  Though the girls r right, one side excursion into culinary or ice cream heavan is not so much a setback, enjoy your trip & hey perfect time to work on that tan :D If id been beside u I might of finished the other half of that sundae...

Don't fret about the occasional pig-out, You were probably in calorie deficit anyway. :D
weakness is Black Forest cake with whipped cream on the side, but I never manage to finish it - too sweet after the usual healthy food. Somewhere out the back of that coffee cafe is a big fat overfed dog suffering from diabetes. :)

I feel better already-what a great support system we have! I'm vacationing in Bermuda (had to go somewhere to find summer!) And I can't recall seeing any gyms last time I was there. Are muscles going to disappear? Any suggestions of what to do instead? I will definitely swim - but that's not quite the same as DL's or Rows with a bunch of weight.

This is true. I had only had about 1100 calories on Wednesday, and I had a pretty extensive weight workout (for me anyway!) that day also. So yesterday body was craving calories of any kind!

Of course not! Your muscles will be fine! Alot of hotels have a small workout room in them. The last one we stayed in had a workout room with a treadmill, elliptical, DB weight rack and a weight resistance machine with BF press, bench press (cable, pulley system) and I had it all to myself! Really nice. If you aren't staying in a hotel, or if yours does not have one, just do body weight exercises there in your room, you know....push ups, leg lifts, bicycle crunches, Bulg. squats, and yes PLANKS!! :D If you are in the pool, do some resistance work, like treading water or swimming laps, Trust me lap swimming is a GREAT all over body workout!
Most of all, just be happy, have a great time and don't worry about anything. You have earned this time off...enjoy!

Hey guys! Back from the beach :D Had a great time, beautiful weather. While I didn't get to do any weight work outs or run, I did get ALOT of exercise Boogie Board (shortened version of a surf board) riding the surf. 3 days of it!! The best resistance exercise I can think of is forcing your way out in the surf pushing through a strong current, then staying put while waves are crashing over you, waiting for the "perfect" wave, then launching yourself up on the wave and balancing, holding on riding it for all its worth! calf muscles are so sore!! But it was fantastic. And I don't recall seeing any other 40+ women (or men) out there doing the same if I do say so myself! 8) There were a couple of teen boys trying their best, but they just couldn't hang with the ole' lady!! They packed up and went farther down the beach!! Ha! (I still got it.. )
Eating was a problem...not so good on the diet side...but I think it balanced out with all the exercise. Glad to be home and can't wait to get back on track with eating and exercise! Hope everyone had a great few days and are doing great!
