Six-Pack in 3 months

Post by Latina »

Hi
I'm 36 years old, 5"5 and 120 lbs. I just wanted to know if it's possible to get a six pack in about 3 months and how to achieve fast results. I'm going on vacation and want to look good in a bikini. I tend to exercise for 2 weeks and then give up when I don't see results. I want to keep current weight, but just build muscle.

It depends. If your stomach fat is low enough and you work out your ab muscles they should start showing soon. However, if you have too much fat around your stomach, you could do thousands of ab excercises and reps and still not be able to see them.

Abs are mostly built in the Kitchen.

Sounds odd to say that, but without good diet, most people never cut bf% enough to show any Abs, no matter how hard or often they cane them, or do alledgedly 300-500 sit-ups a day.

If your bf% is like Caden said, pretty low, then Abs training could improve upon existing abdominal condition, reasonably well in 3 months.

Developing a 6 pack involves getting your body fat very low. Depending on genetics, it may be extremely difficult. If you take alook at the female bodybuilders and fitness competitors who are onstage at very low body fats, keep in mind that many of them don't see that much definition until a few days before stepping on stage. point is that depending on how much fat you hold int he tummy area it may be very difficult. I don't mean to sound discouraging.

Bossman is right that abs are made in the kitchen. How you eat is most important in getting your body fat down. To get a 6 pack your diet will have to be spot on and it will have to be the right diet for your individual needs.

Thank you all so much.

I took BF% 8 years ago and I had a 19%, now I'm 3 lbs heavier so I guess it increased some. I do see some definition on upper abs, problem is lower abs. I would love to get waist back to a 24 in, that's what I had before I had kids. Now waist is 27 inches. I'm trying to eat healthy and control sweet tooth with sugar free jello and protein bars. What would be the perfect BF% for a 36 years old?

hmm 19% is too much to see your abs very well. I would try to get down to about 10%.

caden i'm pretty sure she's a female "that's what I had before I had kids"... I think for women you only need to get down to 14%bf< to have a six pack while for men you need 10%<

I think the bf% is the same for both sexes. For a woman to have their Abs show at about 4% higher than men, the Abs, would have ot be significantly closer to the Dermal layer on the midsection, and the only real difference I know of, between a and females Muscular Skeletal structures, in upper body, is that a Man has one less Rib.

I think i saw that info on this forum not sure though but this is another site i found that said women only need bf% of 14> to see their bas were as men need 10%>

http://www.build-muscle-and-burn-fat.co ... kouts.html

"In general, your body fat percentage needs to be less than 10% for men and 14% for women to begin to see your abs."

I don't know what to think since i'm not a porffesional...

Well I'm not a proffessional either, I'm just saying something that sounds quite logical.

I do quite like this though.

"You have come here to find the best ab workout for you to get a solid, well defined set of 6 pack abs."

What a load bunkem. Most messageboards with members, or sites with qualified people, who regularly give Abs workout advice, could give good Abs advice.

They make it sound as if, going on any other sites, will not provide you with the info they can.

Then again, too many sites claim to be the best at this / that / the other. They can't all be .

I'm still not convinced as to why women could see a 6-pac at a higher bf% than a man, unless it had something to do with female Hormone levels, or the physical positioning of the Abdominal wall.

jd's actually right there bossman...women are about 5% "behind" so 105 to a is 15% on a female as they hold extra fat for childbirth, holding a fetus etc with 145 being about as low as one could get without going overbaord diet and training wise...what's your % sarah???

So you're effectively saying Men store more Fat just in the Midsection area, Women store it all over, so even if a woman is a higher bf%, the actual Fat mass just around the Midsection, will be lower, even if an overall reading is higher than a mans.
