Hi name is Troy,
I am 25 and I am very lean. I have lots of tone and definition. I just need advice on some great nutrition and some good workout routines. I work in an office m-f 7-6 and need food for the office too.
I am uncertain on how much food I need to eat and when, and when I do workout what to focus on.
I am going to do very little cardio because if I am doing any cardio I loose weight VERY fast. I have a very fast metabolism that is keeping me back from gaining weight.
And just as a recap, I am 25 at 135lbs at 6'0. I use to weigh 160 but as soon as I started running often I lost alot of weight within 2 months. Now I am trying to gain weight/muscle. ultimate goal would be 180, I feel 180 would be good for being 6'0
Any advice is appreciated.

I would limit the cardio for sure... But have you ever tried to lift heavy? like rotating 65% to about 80 or 90% of your max. five or six days a week? I do that now following a powerlifting workout regiment.. Man I am sooo hungry now! Even though I know you are a hard gainer ..I think this will help. Im normally hungry for about 3,000 calories..when I lift hard and heavy I can eat about 7500 calories! I have to hold myself back...also eat food you like. Maybe you like protein shakes.. I love them! and they are soo easy to drink while in a hurry..Eat often and eat plenty.

Definitely increase the amount you lift and focus more on your weight lifting regimen. Make sure to lift heavy a few days a week, and do normal weight on the others (normal weight will help tone you and the heavy will help to bulk you). Since you have a fast metabolism, I would also suggest using some type of protein shake to help increase muscle mass...make about 2-3 shakes a day mixing it with yogurt, cereals, or just drink as a reg shake. I have been using the chocolate whey protein powder from Beachbody and absolutely love it. I looked into a lot of choices and that one had the highest amount of protein while still having very natural ingredients which is important to me.

Good product it would seem, but it's a shame some of their beachbody coaches have been banned from this site, for unsolicted promoting of Team Beachbody products and coaching pages, as if I was in a position to buy their products I wouldn't for that reason.

It seems like ectomorphs hate being ectomorphs... but Iv seen lots of them lift hard and eat a constant supply of protein throughout the day..Man they can have some amazing looking bodies! super lean with ripped strong looking muscles.Those are the guys that look thin with a shirt on then take it off poolside and all the jaws drop on the ladies! Its sure not a curse. lol just seems to take longer to build muscle. watch a bruce lee movie when he sheds the shirt. Wuuuuuaaaaaaa!!( Bruce LEE IMPERSINATION)
