Can't really say, as it depends on the size. Any decent one will do I would think, with a pretty clear display that you can read, and doesn't give you loads of pointless stats.
You might find if you do get one of the smaller home based ones, that are about 4 ft long, you try to get one with the side rails on, as I think some don't have those, and if you ever had a mishap, those rails would be a good safety feature.

I have owned several treadmills over the years. Some were better than others. It kind of depends on what features are most important to you (display readings, incline levels either auto or manual, speed settings, pre-programmed workouts, heartrate readings, calories/fat calories readings, etc.) and what your budget can afford. As Boss Man says...alot of pointless stats can get in the way sometimes and be misleading. A good cushioned deck is important for impact absorption, the wider the running area the better.
I bought a used Reebok 4x 4000 (from a friend) 8 years ago and it is still going strong, with only one malfunction (incline quit about 1 year ago). I have logged literally thousands of miles on that treadmill in 8 years. I have the i.fit capabilities but have never used it, and mine has pre-programmed workout levels (I also rarely used those, prefer to just get on the thing and run!)
So, I guess it all depends on what features you want (and will use) and budget. You might do some research online, check out some discount sports websites for closeouts or discontinued models for some good deals.
Good luck to ya!

I have been selling treadmills for the past 4 years. It depends on what you want to do with it and how often and/or many people will be using it. If you are thinking about frequent 3-4 times a week 30min use of walk and occasionally jogg then go with Proform. Proform is a lower brand but yet it sill offers all the features necessary to reach your goals. Keep in mind, while Proform will cost you less then 700 bucks they are not designed for every day use and family use.
If you are looking for heavy use tradmill for running and family use example 4-7 times a week usage by each person then consider going with Nordictrack or little more expensive brand. The reason for that is because Nortictrack treadmills come with heavy dutty LIFETIME warranty motors designed for beating and abusing. They can take so much more pounding then Proform. Designed for any weight (well up tp 350 lbs) and heavy family use.
If you are really serious about using it everyday then I reccomend purchasing extended warranty since it can extend the life of your product by several years. I own proform elliptical that I use no more then 3 times a week and absolutely happy with it.
