Anish’s Weight Loss Story!
When did you become unhappy with your weight?
When I was climbing the stairs of a commercial building and I realized I was breathless after climbing just 1 floor. Moreover, I was unhappy as I couldn’t fit in regular clothes and had to always buy from plus size stores.
What made you decide to lose weight?
My grandfather motivated me and of course my family supported and after 1 month on meal replacements, I saw results. This became an inspiration and I finally made up my mind to do it.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
I started working out and hired a good trainer. I knew I was too heavy to do regular workout, so my trainer made me do a lot of field training. I also started eating more during the day (quality foods). Now, I eat almost 9-11 times a day. I tried to sleep better and I started drinking lots of water.
What was most challenging about losing weight?
My love for food! I love junk food. Not only western junk food but also Indian junk food which is high in carbs and saturated fat. Most importantly I am a strict vegetarian and in India most of our foods are high in carbs and low in protein.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
2 years. I didn’t do strict dieting and decided on permanent fat loss, not just weight loss.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
I workout 6 days a week, eat right and eat many times a day (8-10 times). This includes my whey protein shakes.
How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
Things inside me and around me have become more beautiful including my wife!

Anish’s Weight Loss Eating Plan!
Usually its different daily. But mostly complex carbs and protein. Either a cheese and veggie sandwich, whole wheat theplas (tortillas) with curd (plan yogurt), oats and semolina idlis (steamed dumplings) and a large mug of masala chai (Indian style tea with spices and milk).
Tofu/bean curd (120 grams) plus any steamed veggies and 1 or 2 chappatis (whole wheat tortillas).
Tofu/bean curd, cottage cheese (paneer) (120 grams) plus any steamed/sauteed/baked veggies and 1 or 2 chappatis (whole wheat tortillas) or whole wheat or multigrain toasts.
Snacks or Mini Meals:
2-3 servings of whey protein shakes, 1-2 servings of fruits (apple, pear, papaya, musk melon, husk melon), 1 serving of nuts like almonds, peanuts and roasted chick peas.
Anish’s Weight Loss Workouts!
Daily. Medium to heavy weights. A combination of strength, endurance and circuit training.
3 times a week for 30-45 minutes, after weight training.
