Candace’s Weight Loss Story!

When did you become unhappy with your weight?
When I started becoming unhappy wearing clothes. Everything I put on just didn’t look right.

What made you decide to lose weight?
If I wanted to start being happy with myself then I had to do something about it.

What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
Working out was one of the most important changes I made, along with portion control. I never “diet” because I knew I would wouldn’t stick to a food plan that was too strict.

What was most challenging about losing weight?
I never had any major challenges. I would weigh myself once a month and I was wishing all the hard work would eventually show.

How long did it take you to start to see results?
I don’t know if it was a mental thing but when I looked at myself I couldn’t really tell a difference at about 75 pounds into my weight loss journey. Everyone would say, “Good job” and “You’re looking good” but I didn’t feel or see it.

How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
18 months.

How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
I still want to lose a little more weight. I keep on track by working out 5-6 times a week for 2-3 hours a day.

What keeps you motivated to continue your weight loss success?
I have never in my life been able to wear a bikini. So, once I reach that goal I will be super excited!

How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
It didn’t change much. As a plus size girl, I love to shop and I still do. I just like it a little more now.

Do you have any advice for others who are trying to lose weight?
Do what is right for you. I was going to have the gastric bypass surgery but my doctor wanted me to try Adipex first and I did. It changed my life.
