When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I became unhappy with myself after I stepped on a scale at the emergency room in the hospital. I went to the hospital because of a rash on my arm. The nurse told me to step on the scale and I was so upset with my body weight that I knew I had to do something about it.
What made you decide to lose weight?
I decided to lose the weight because it was affecting my life style. I could hardly tie my shoe and my seven year old daughter had to help me do things. I could hardly bend over to pick up a paper.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
The most important changes were to change my eating habits. Also to have a better lifestyle.
What was most challenging about losing weight?
Not eating the foods I wanted and was used to eating.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
After I lost the first 20 pounds.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
It took only 6 months and I’m still losing weight.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
I am maintaining my weight loss by eating the right meat, vegetables, fruits and proper exercise.
How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
My self-esteem is so much better. I am very proud of the way I look and feel. I am able to buy smaller clothes. I have gone down from a size 32 dress to a 18 dress size.
How did ShapeFit help you reach your weight loss goals?
By getting information on walking and working out. I would not exercise or workout until I decided to make up my mind to do something about my weight gain. You have to make up your mind to want to lose the weight and keep it off. ShapeFit helped me do this!

I’m currently not weight training.
My average workout consisted of 30 minute walk on the treadmill every morning. Also a 3 to 4 times a week walking 3 1/2 miles around the track field.
