Christopher’s Weight Loss Story!

When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I was born skinny and during my childhood days my parents never deprived us of food. When I hit my teenage years I became overweight and then went from being overweight to obese. When I tried to become independent years after graduating from college, I trimmed down but it wasn’t the healthy way. Asian countries like the Philippines are rice lovers and eating all that rice made me fat. When I decided to live again in our house, I lost control of my appetite by eating lots of different foods like pork and rice. Two years ago I decided to get fit because I have a dream career. My goal was to lose weight the right way. So when I found fun home workouts I took it to the next level. I wanted to get fit and build muscle.

What made you decide to lose weight?
It isn’t that easy to lose weight. It is torture. These are the words that ran through my mind two years ago. But I had a dream career so I needed to lose the extra weight. Another important reason was for my health issues.

What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
I look forward to working out (doing home workouts) every day. Weights, cardio, Pilates and Yoga. I can’t find a reason to stop and I fell in love with working out. It feels like I can’t live a day without doing it. I also tried to avoid junk foods that give me pleasure but are bad to my health and make me fat.

What was most challenging about losing weight?
The extreme workout routines. Some days my muscles are really sore and I’m tired but I have to push myself to do more. Sometimes, my friends also tease me for eating healthy food and avoiding junk food.

From the time I gained weight from packing on muscle, it’s been 7 months now. My discipline and mantra is, “The more food you eat, the more you need to workout and burn those accumulated calories”.

What keeps you motivated to continue your weight loss success?
Seeing the results and the feedback from my friends and colleagues.

How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
The physical change has been amazing. A friend of mine once told me, “You’re not cute anymore. You’re so handsome now”. I have much better posture now and I can bend and jump much higher.

Do you have any advice for others who are trying to lose weight?
I created my formula which I share to everyone, it is 3 Ds and 2 Ps which stands for: Discipline, Determination, Dedication, Patience and Prayers.
