When did you become unhappy with your weight?
Approaching age 40.
What made you decide to lose weight?
I went shopping for a new suit , tried on a size 48 jacket and 40 waist and it was snug! Time for a change.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
Eating habits. I used to love deep fried foods, sometimes twice a day. I decided to eliminate deep fried foods and any foods after 8:00 p.m.
What was most challenging about losing weight?
Business dinners. It is hard to be eating in restaurants and to still choose the right foods.

How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
I have maintained my current weight for almost 9 years. I developed a health routine that includes a healthy diet and an exercise routine.
How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
More energy! I don’t seem to need as much sleep and I am able to deal with life stress through a healthier lifestyle.
How did ShapeFit help you reach your weight loss goals?
ShapeFit now helps me maintain my current weight through workout tips, diet help and recipe suggestions. After 8 years of maintaining, I am always looking for new ideas or approaches to keep my routine “new” and ShapeFit offers a new age way to have ideas delivered to me. I love it!

Darrell’s Weight Loss Eating Plan!
Whole wheat bagel, with peanut butter bowl of high fiber cereal with 1 percent milk and small fruit yogurt.
Healthy $5.00 meal. Such as: chili, chicken sandwich, taco salad, fajitas, slice of “chicken” pizza.
White boneless/skinless chicken with multi grain rice. Tuna salad steak/veggies.
Snacks or Mini Meals:
Protein bar, protein shake, high fiber low-fat muffin.
Darrell’s Weight Loss Workouts!
I workout 5 days per week. One body part on each workout. At least three exercises per body part and I usually do three sets of 12 reps. Max 45 minutes for weight training. Followed by an abs workout of 10 minutes and then stretching/cool down.
I do 30 minutes of cardio each day (following my weight training) usually on the elliptical trainer and I try to walk where I am going as much as possible. Daily walk at lunchtime.
