What made you decide to lose weight?
My marriage was rocky and a doctor told us we couldn’t have children because of my size and health.

What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
Fitness tracking! I tracked my calories consumed, my calories burned, and started shopping smarter. I also started an online blog for friends and family to see my progress.

How long did it take you to start to see results?
Results showed right away, but I didn’t kick things up until about a year into it. Then they really started showing.

It took my 18 months to lose the weight.

How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
Over several months. I still track my calories and follow an exercise routine.

When I see my friends and family following my example and attempting to lose weight themselves. It keeps me going knowing I’m a role model.

Emilee’s Weight Loss Eating Plan!

emilee-weight-loss-story-5Egg white omelet with chopped peppers, or whole wheat pita with hummus, or whole grain old fashioned oatmeal with a side of whole grain toast.

I go green with lunches! It’s typically a Greek salad with olives, vinaigrette dressing, tomatoes and chopped vegetables.

Lean meats like turkey or chicken (sometimes beef) with sauteed vegetables on the side. I also love homemade crockpot soups (good for running).

Snacks or Mini Meals:
Fruits are good snacks for me. I keep them sitting on my kitchen island. I also like to snack on seaweed crisps from Trader Joe’s.

Nutritional Supplements:
Just a good old multivitamin with a little extra vitamin D and B12 on the side.

Emilee’s Weight Loss Workouts!

Weight Training:
Fast paced interval training involving Pilates and yoga. I also use a home weight machine for more muscle building workouts.

Running is my top cardio exercise. I also have a stationary bike that I use regularly when I’m not running.
