Jason’s Weight Loss Story!
When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I never noticed a significant weight gain, but I just wanted to slim down. I did not realize how much weight I had packed on.
What made you decide to lose weight?
My friends and I both agreed I needed to lose some weight after going out to eat lunch. I ordered a bunch of greasy, high fat food with a huge sugary soda. I probably ate about 2,000 at that meal alone and knew I had to make a change!
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
My diet! I changed the types of foods I ate and my portion sizes. I also cut out coffee and saved a lot of money. I used to have at least 5 coffee drinks every day! I started cooking at home which made a huge difference in both clean eating and saving money. It’s amazing how much money I was spending every month eating out.
What was most challenging about losing weight?
It was actually the weather! During the snowy season, it was hard to exercise outside. I walked to the gym and had to walk in snow, rain and ice.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
It only took about 1 week to notice some changes.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
It took me 6 months to reach my current weight.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
I have maintained for 3 weeks. I do it by continuing to go to the gym and workout.
How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
I get compliments all the time now! I feel so much better and I’m gaining muscle now.

I use a personal trainer 2 times per week and we focus on weight training to build muscle. I also do yoga 2 times a week and do a spin class and abs once a week. Lifting weights is the key to building lean muscle mass and yoga is great for stretching and staying flexible.
For cardio, I like running and walking everywhere.
