When did you become unhappy with your weight?
What made you decide to lose weight?
I knew I was overweight but did not realize by how much. I didn’t even know what my weight was or what my weight should be. So, I looked up what a healthy weight is for my height and age and then I bought my first scale! From there I kept doing more research and making small changes step by step in my diet and exercise plan and it just was a domino effect from there.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
Count calories, exercise, and drink water CONSISTENTLY! I planned ahead if I knew I was going out or had a family get together.
What was most challenging about losing weight?
At work, all of the women bring in food and share food and even eat together. So not only did I have to have discipline to say NO to the food but in return, felt left out because I had to eat lunch at a different time from them so they could all eat together and share their food.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
I weighed myself everyday and I saw the numbers changing on the scale about 1-2 pounds a week but to see it in the mirror was almost 3 months.

How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
I feel AMAZING! I feel the healthiest I have ever been. Mentally, I feel different as well. Junk food and bad meals don’t even tempt me anymore. I’d rather have fruit and veggies. Also, since losing weight, I love trying new exercises like Bikram yoga and jogging. I was never a runner before.
