Kim’s Weight Loss Story!
When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I had been unhappy for a while but finally said enough is enough and wanted to get healthy and change my exercise and eating habits.
What made you decide to lose weight?
I knew I needed to lose weight and control my food portions.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
I found some articles on “How to speed up your metabolism” and what foods to eat. I started to eat more meals but smaller portions throughout the day. I also started walking 3 miles a day, every day (with lots of hills) and then started doing Zumba fitness 3-4 times a week. This is where the fun began. I used to hate to exercise until I found Zumba. Zumba is dancing and does not feel like you’re working out at all. It is something that I enjoy and it’s fun!! Eventually, the weight just started melting off.
What was most challenging about losing weight?
Sticking with it at the beginning was hard because you don’t really see results right away. If you just keep up the good habits, you eventually do see results.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
2 to 3 months.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
1.5 to 2 years.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
About a year now. I continue to keep up with the exercise and healthy eating habits. I am now addicted to Zumba. As long as I eat healthy most of the time, when I do overindulge, I do not gain any weight. That’s probably because my metabolism is so high.
How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
I am happier, healthier, have more self-esteem, more energy and overall, I have a new outlook on life.
