Natalia’s Weight Loss Story!
When did you become unhappy with your weight?
A year ago.
What made you decide to lose weight?
I noticed I was getting a double chin and my ankles were thicker over the space of 2 years while I was living away from home for the first time. It was shocking to finally have the blinders removed and see I was heavily obese! I was 199 pounds and I didn’t even realize it! I was so depressed and just kept feeling sorry for myself and eating more!
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
EXERCISE! I couldn’t have done it without the gym. Also, I cut out all fizzy drinks and fast food takeout meals every day of the week. Instead, I stuck to a balanced diet and started to learn to love veggies!
What was most challenging about losing weight?
Cravings for cheeseburgers and the weight not coming off fast enough. You feel you need INSTANT visible results as you are working so hard.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
About the time I had lost 20 pounds, people were commenting on how different I looked.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
It took me 1 year to lose 67 pounds, which was slow but steady.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
I am at my original goal, yet I now feel I want to lose about 15 extra pounds and tone up. To maintain, I intend to carry on with eating well, carefully choosing healthy foods and exercising a lot!
How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
I am SO happy now. I go out and feel attractive! I can wear clothes I never DREAMED of wearing! I can go shopping and I’m not embarrassed in the streets. I go SWIMMING and I’m getting married! My life Is amazing.
How did ShapeFit help you reach your weight loss goals?
I have been reading ShapeFit’s weight loss success stories from day one! When I felt low and unmotivated, I would read them and marvel at the pictures! I would run to the gym and put down the chocolate bar!
Natalia’s Weight Loss Tips!
Weight loss tip #1:
Exercise for at least 30 minutes, at least 6 days a week.
Weight loss tip #2:
Drink water all the time!
Weight loss tip #3:
Set REALISTIC goals for yourself. You wont be disappointed then.
Weight loss tip #4:
Don’t bother with the crash diet thing. It will all go back on as soon as you begin to eat normally again.
Weight loss tip #5:
Always push yourself! Even when you don’t feel up to it. The reward is greater at the end.
Natalia’s Weight Loss Eating Plan!
Bowl of Special K cereal, red berries with skim milk.
Crackers with light spread, banana and low-fat yogurt.
Fish, new potatoes, carrots and greens.
Snacks or Mini Meals:
100 calorie snacks, yogurt and fruit.
Natalia’s Weight Loss Workouts!
Currently, I do about 30 minutes of weight training every other day.
I use the treadmill, rowing machine and Xtrainer for 40 minutes, 6 days a week.
