Brandon’s Weight Loss Interview!

How much did you lose (pounds, inches, dress/pants size)?
I lost a total of 103 pounds and went from a size 40 in jeans down to a size 32! My shirt size went from a XXL down to a medium.

When did you become unhappy with your weight (were you overweight as a child or did you gain weight as an adult)?
I was always chubby as a child. I really noticed my weight problem as a sophomore in high school about 2 years ago.

What made you decide to lose weight?
I was not comfortable with my size and I discovered how unhealthy being overweight really was.

What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
I changed my relationship with food. I realized that food is not just for fun and enjoyment but it should be primarily used for energy.

What was the most challenging thing you had to deal with during your weight loss journey?
When my friends and family tried to force food on me and they would say, “You are too skinny”.

How long did it take you to start to see results?
I really started to notice changes after the first couple of months when I lost around 40 pounds.

How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
It took me 151 days to lose the weight.

How long have you maintained your weight loss and what are the most important factors for keeping it off?
I reached my goal weight on August 16, 2015. I will continue to count calories to ensure I do not overeat so I can maintain my weight loss!

What keeps you motivated to continue your weight loss success?
I remember how bad I felt being fat. Being thin feels WONDERFUL!

How has your life changed now that you have lost weight?
I feel I am respected more by others and I have a lot more self-confidence. Just moving my body around each day along with my breathing are so much better now.

Do you have any advice for others who are trying to lose weight?
Most people are overweight and unhealthy because of what they eat (except for people with medical conditions). It’s your right to be healthy and all you have to do is want it bad enough.

How did ShapeFit help you reach your weight loss goals?
ShapeFit’s weight loss stories are very motivational.

Brandon’s Weight Loss Tips!

Weight Loss Tip #1:
brandon-s-weight-loss-story-4Calories in versus calories out is the key. I feel this is the only way you can lose weight.

Weight Loss Tip #2:
You might be a little hungry when first starting out on a new nutrition plan but remember that you are not starving and it’s just your body adjusting to the new foods.

Weight Loss Tip #3:
While exercise is important and provides many health benefits, it will be difficult to lose weight if you don’t change what you eat because you can’t out-exercise a bad diet.

Weight Loss Tip #4:
You don’t have to give up fast food or eating out to have success. I recommend eating smaller portions and always try to stay in your calorie range. Remember, moderation is key!

Weight Loss Tip #5:
Don’t drink your calories! Avoid consuming sodas and other sugar loaded beverages (juices, coffee drinks).
