    Carl’s Weight Loss Interview!

How much did you lose (pounds, inches, dress/pants size)?
    I lost 46 pounds!

When did you become unhappy with your weight (were you overweight as a child or did you gain weight as an adult)?
When I was walking past a mirror I noticed my reflection and was not happy. I was always in good shape, but after years of teaching and not training I slowly got out of shape.

What made you decide to lose weight?
I wanted to be a better example of what it means to train hard and get results.

What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
Diet and exercise. My diet plan was extremely strict, but that is how bad I wanted to be where I am. I cut everything out that wasn’t healthy for me. No sweets, no snacks and no drinking alcohol. I ate veggies and baked chicken and drank plain water along with some all-natural protein shakes. I changed everything about myself! I created a hardcore playlist of music to get me fired up during my workouts. I wanted the songs to scream at me if I cheated and got lazy. I got to work and the results were better than I expected!

What was the most challenging thing you had to deal with during your weight loss journey?
Learning to run again was difficult.

How long did it take you to start to see results?
It only took me 30 days to see results.

How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
It took me about 6-7 months to lose all the weight.

How long have you maintained your weight loss and what are the most important factors for keeping it off?
I have maintained my weight for 5 months.

What keeps you motivated to continue your weight loss success?
The way I look and feel is a huge motivator to keep me going!

How has your life changed now that you have lost weight?
I feel so much better! I get lots of compliments and I have more stamina and endurance to teach my boxing classes.

Do you have any advice for others who are trying to lose weight?
Stay focused and disciplined and you will eventually reach your weight loss goals. I’ll be 48 years old this month. If I can do it, you can too!

How did ShapeFit help you reach your weight loss goals?
I love to see others succeed so it’s great to read ShapeFit’s weight loss stories.

Thank you for the reminder to grab my iPod shuffle with inspirational music! I love your thought that one repetition is better than none. How many times does that give us just the needed boost to keep going, too? And finally, you are such a wise reminder that teachers, coaches and caregivers deserve and thrive from the same training and care that we build up others with! By the way, I would bet that you have inspired SO many of your clients too, just by seeing how you look now!
