    Darnell’s Weight Loss Interview!

    How much did you lose (pounds, inches, dress/pants size)?
    I lost 90 pounds and 10 inches off my waist!

    When did you become unhappy with your weight (were you overweight as a child or did you gain weight as an adult)?
    I was overweight as a child and got tired of the way I looked.

    What made you decide to lose weight?
    My brother helped me figure out that I could have a better life if I made the decision to lose the weight.

    What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
    I had to watch every little thing I ate. I stopped drinking sodas and ran every day for exercise.

    What was the most challenging thing you had to deal with during your weight loss journey?
    It was probably the desire to achieve a great looking body too soon into my journey. I also had to stop weighing myself after every run.

    How long did it take you to start to see results?
    It took a couple of months to start seeing results.

    How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
    It took about 8-9 months to reach my current weight. I could have lost even more weight within that time frame, but I got a little lazy during my journey.

    Did you have any issues with loose skin after losing the weight? If so, how did you deal with it (surgery, etc)?
    Yes, I have some issues with loose skin. I’m doing push-ups and sit-ups to help tighten up those areas. I’m too young for surgery.

    How long have you maintained your weight loss and what are the most important factors for keeping it off?
    I have kept the weight off for a year now. It’s important to always watch what I eat and avoid going overboard if I decide to have a treat. It is very easy to gain those pounds back!

    What keeps you motivated to continue your weight loss success?
    Entering the military is motivation for me to keep the weight off. My brother is also a big motivator.

    How has your life changed now that you have lost weight?
    I feel great and have more energy to do what I want now! I find clothes that actually fit me and the girls at my school actually pay attention to me now 🙂

    Do you have any advice for others who are trying to lose weight?
    Just try your hardest and don’t give up! Trust me, you will come a long way if you stay focused.

    Weight Loss Tip #1:
    Don’t give up!

    Weight Loss Tip #2:
    Watch your calories because they will sneak up on you.

    Weight Loss Tip #3:
    Don’t worry about what other people think or say about you.

    Weight Loss Tip #4:
    Don’t always weigh yourself because you might get disappointed if you find out that you haven’t lost any pounds.

    Weight Loss Tip #5:
    Just because you lost weight doesn’t mean you can wear anything that “regular sized” people wear because some outfits just aren’t for everyone 🙂

    Darnell’s Weight Loss Eating Plan!

    What do you normally eat for breakfast?
    Any kind of fruit.

    What do you normally eat for lunch?
    I usually eat a chicken wrap at school.

    What do you normally eat for dinner?
    I like to eat salads for dinner sometimes (no dressing). I eat a wide variety of food, but I just make sure it’s not too fattening.

    What do you normally eat for snacks?
    Veggie sticks.

    What type of nutritional supplements do you take?
    I currently do not take any nutritional supplements.

    Darnell’s Weight Loss Workouts!

    What do you do for weight training (exercises, workouts)?
    I like doing bodyweight exercises like push-ups and sit-ups.

    What do you do for cardio training (exercises, workouts)?
    I run outside for about 30 minutes for my cardio.
