    David’s Weight Loss Interview

    How much did you lose?
    I lost over 100 pounds and went from a pant’s size 48 down to a 32!

    When did you become unhappy with your weight?
    I became unhappy when several health red flags starting popping up. I had lost my self-confidence.

    What made you decide to lose weight?
    It was either that, or else. I had no other outlet for the relief I needed.

    What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
    The most important changes were learning how food and calories work. From there it was trusting the process. It really came down to wisdom over willpower.

    What was the most challenging thing you had to deal with during your weight loss journey?
    The most challenging thing I had to overcome was scheduling everything. Basically how to fit it all in and avoid dangerous situations. Also dealing with sick days where I just didn’t really feel like sticking to the plan were very challenging.

    How long did it take you to start to see results?
    I saw results right away, but every couple of months there were serious breakthroughs like my size changing, successful blood results, and overtly feeling better.

    How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
    It took me less than 6 months to reach my current weight.

    Did you have any issues with loose skin after losing the weight?
    I do have loose skin issues in my belly area. I am currently working on it. I am trying to reduce my body fat percentage down to around 8% and then hopefully that will help.

    How long have you maintained your weight loss and what are the most important factors for keeping it off?
    I have just started the “keeping it off” phase of my journey. I intend to stay in a slight deficit until a later date.

    What keeps you motivated to continue your weight loss success?
    Now that I’m here, there is really no turning back!

    How has your life changed now that you have lost weight?
    I can finally wear clothes again! Shopping for clothes is a surreal experience!

    Do you have any advice for others who are trying to lose weight?
    Wisdom! You must learn about how this stuff works. The information is out there, but we are simply ignorant (those who are overweight). You must learn how to really understand the material.

    What do you normally eat for breakfast?
    Oatmeal and coffee.

    What do you normally eat for lunch?
    Healthy shake (smoothie).

    What do you normally eat for dinner?
    Fish and veggies.

    What do you normally eat for snacks?
    Banana.

    What type of nutritional supplements do you take?
    I currently use a whey protein powder supplement.

    What do you do for weight training (exercises, workouts)?
    I train at the gym for 3 hours a day.

    What do you do for cardio training (exercises, workouts)?
    I do 30 minutes on the recumbent bike at a high RPM rate.
