How much did you lose (pounds, inches, dress/pants size)?
I lost 139 pounds and 14 sizes (from size 60 to 46)!
When did you become unhappy with your weight (were you overweight as a child or did you gain weight as an adult)?
I’ve been overweight since I was a child but only 2 years ago decided that enough was enough.
What made you decide to lose weight?
Fear of health issues linked to my massive weight.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
My daily intake of calories was the most important change.
What was the most challenging thing you had to deal with during your weight loss journey?
Resisting the temptations every time I was in front of food I wasn’t supposed to eat.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
I saw results within 3-4 months.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
It took 2 years to reach my current weight.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and what are the most important factors for keeping it off?
A couple of months. I’m still doing a lot of exercise and eating healthy.
What keeps you motivated to continue your weight loss success?
I look at pictures of when I was much bigger and that is very motivating to help me stay on track.
How has your life changed now that you have lost weight?
The mirror isn’t an enemy anymore!
Do you have any advice for others who are trying to lose weight?
There’s no secret plan, secret diet or secret exercise. It all starts with your head if you REALLY want it. If you really, truly want it than you can get it done.

Luca’s Weight Loss Tips!
Weight Loss Tip #1:
Cut out almost all of the refined carbohydrates and sugar that you eat every day.
Weight Loss Tip #2:
Exercise! Whether you just walk or even run, just do something active every day and move your body.
Weight Loss Tip #3:
Don’t get mad if you don’t lose weight right away. Just stay the course and keep on working at it. Eventually you will lose the weight and succeed.
Weight Loss Tip #4:
Give yourself small and easily obtainable benchmarks. Once you reach them, give yourself another benchmark until you reach the point where you just feel good about yourself.
Weight Loss Tip #5:
Don’t lose your mind if once in a while you eat something that isn’t on your diet. It happens, so don’t exaggerate the issue and get out of control. Just come right back to your diet the next day and get back on track.

What do you normally eat for breakfast?
Orange juice and light biscuits.
What do you normally eat for lunch?
Mostly protein and some pasta once or twice a week.
What do you normally eat for dinner?
Protein (meat or fish) with a side of vegetables (carrots, lettuce, eggplant).
What do you normally eat for snacks?
What type of nutritional supplements do you take?
I don’t take any supplements.

What do you do for weight training (exercises, workouts)?
I like to do sit-ups every day for my abs.
What do you do for cardio training (exercises, workouts)?
I run for an hour (5-6 miles) three to four times a week.
