How much did you lose (pounds, inches, dress/pants size)?
I lost 45 pounds and 6 pants sizes!
When did you become unhappy with your weight (were you overweight as a child or did you gain weight as an adult)?
I was overweight for a long time and very unhappy with my body. I still plan to lose 13 more pounds!
What made you decide to lose weight?
One semester I received really bad grades and that along with being overweight propelled me to buy my first salad! I looked at the scale in the gym and saw 238.6 pounds. I shed a tear and then I trained. It was time to change my life for the better.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
Diet is everything.
What was the most challenging thing you had to deal with during your weight loss journey?
Doing Insanity workout DVDs and going to the gym daily. My body was in hell but I needed to lose weight quickly because I knew if I didn’t see any results I would quit.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
I noticed results in 2 weeks.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
Around 4 months.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and what are the most important factors for keeping it off?
I’ve kept the weight off for a little over a month. I don’t eat junk food that often and I don’t drink soda ever! I also avoid sweets like cake and I eat smaller portion sizes.
What keeps you motivated to continue your weight loss success?
Getting the body I really want! My friends and family are also very supportive and I really don’t want to disappoint them.
How has your life changed now that you have lost weight?
In every way! I feel much better, I have a lot more energy, I feel much lighter, I get more compliments and people even respect and look up to me now.
Do you have any advice for others who are trying to lose weight?
Diet hard and train even harder!

Nicholas’s Weight Loss Tips!
Weight Loss Tip #1:
Go to the gym for at least 45 minutes a day.
Weight Loss Tip #2:
Do cardio, preferably HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training).
Weight Loss Tip #3:
Portion sizes! Try to reduce them because your diet is everything.
Weight Loss Tip #4:
Cut carbs and increase vegetables and protein in your meals.
Weight Loss Tip #5:
Have a cheat day once a week (mine is Friday). A diet that is not sustainable is not a good diet at all and if you cut yourself off from everything you love, you will end up binge eating and breaking your diet more often so enjoy a cheat day once every week.
Nicholas’s Weight Loss Eating Plan!
What do you normally eat for breakfast?
Tuna with bread or two boiled eggs with bread or a 2 egg omelette with cheese.
What do you normally eat for lunch?
Grilled chicken salad or chicken and veggies or fish and veggies or some fresh fruit.
What do you normally eat for dinner?
Chicken breast and brown rice, or chicken and bread or mackerel and bread or sardines and bread.
What do you normally eat for snacks?
I don’t really snack much but I sometimes have some fruit or yogurt.
What type of nutritional supplements do you take?
I didn’t take any supplements when I was losing weight but I just recently bought some Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey protein powder.
Nicholas’s Weight Loss Workouts!
What do you do for weight training (exercises, workouts)?
I go to the gym 3-5 days a week and I train with supersets because it helps to burn fat much better.
What do you do for cardio training (exercises, workouts)?
I love Insanity workout DVDs. I do them daily and they are brutal!
