    Pankaj’s Weight Loss Interview!

    How much did you lose (pounds, inches, dress/pants size)?
    I lost 46 pounds and it only took me about 8-9 months! I also dropped 6 inches off my waist and went from 38 inches down to 32 inches!

    When did you become unhappy with your weight (were you overweight as a child or did you gain weight as an adult)?
    I started to get unhappy when I was unable to fit into any of my jeans and needed to buy new ones all the time. That’s when I knew I needed to lose some weight.

    What made you decide to lose weight?
    There came a time when I was afraid to look into the mirror because I was so fat. From early on in school, I always wanted to just be the “normal” guy. All the credit for my transformation goes to one movie in which I got very inspired and decided to change my life.

    What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
    I made a strict schedule and a specific promise to myself that every evening I would go to the park and run for 35 minutes in order to get my exercise in.

    What was the most challenging thing you had to deal with during your weight loss journey?
    The most challenging thing for me was keeping up with my strict schedule of running each day no matter how busy my schedule was or how bad the weather was outside. I also had some discomfort in my knees which was a little difficult to deal with, but I pushed through it and never missed a single day until I achieved my goal!

    How long did it take you to start to see results?
    I started to see results in about a week. To monitor my progress, I purchased a scale and weighed myself every morning along with weighing myself in the evening after a tough workout.

    How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
    It took my about 8-9 months to lose 46 pounds.

    Did you have any issues with loose skin after losing the weight? If so, how did you deal with it (surgery, etc)?
    No, I don’t have any issues with loose skin and I’m very fortunate not to have any skin problems after losing the weight.

    How long have you maintained your weight loss and what are the most important factors for keeping it off?
    It’s been 4 months since I reached my weight loss goal and I have maintained my weight since then by exercising daily. The main factor is to understand that your body needs daily exercise to help you stay fit and healthy and by working out you can get not only physically healthy but also mentally fit to increase your quality of life.

    What keeps you motivated to continue your weight loss success?
    I only have one life and it’s important to live it fit and healthy so I can live it to the fullest!

    How has your life changed now that you have lost weight?
    I have received great feedback from many people and they have become motivated from my transformation. Lots of people want to look and feel better and it feels amazing that I can help them with their own journey.

    Do you have any advice for others who are trying to lose weight?
    Don’t lose hope! The main thing is to be aware of your daily progress and congratulate yourself on your achievements.

    Weight Loss Tip #1:
    Perform some type of exercise daily no matter how busy your schedule is.

    Weight Loss Tip #2:
    Try to eat clean foods that provide quality nutrients and keep you energized.

    Weight Loss Tip #3:
    Perform cardio as well as muscle strengthening exercises.

    Weight Loss Tip #4:
    Try your best to keep a strict exercise regimen daily.

    Weight Loss Tip #5:
    Get advice and guidance from a certified fitness trainer.

    What do you normally eat for breakfast?
    Fruit and eggs with some milk.

    What do you normally eat for lunch?
    Vegetables with rice or roti (flatbread).

    What do you normally eat for dinner?
    Pulses (lentils, chickpeas, beans), curd (dairy product), roti (flatbread) and vegetables.

    What do you normally eat for snacks?
    I like to snack on different types of fruits.

    What type of nutritional supplements do you take?
    I have not yet started taking any nutritional supplements.

    Pankaj’s Weight Loss Workouts!

    What do you do for weight training?
    I currently don’t perform any resistance training with weights (dumbbells, barbells) or machines, but I do perform different muscle strengthening exercises at home.

    What do you do for cardio training?
    I enjoy going to the park for my cardio exercise.
