    Rodney’s Weight Loss Interview!

    How much did you lose?
    I lost a total of 185 pounds!

When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I began gaining weight after moving to Jacksonville, Florida at the age of 11. I became unhealthy and was held back by my excess weight towards the end of high school. I was unable to do certain things other kids could do such as run a mile for the physical fitness test or fit comfortably in a desk.

What made you decide to lose weight?
A couple of months after graduating, I just decided I was going to make a change for the better and get in shape.

What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
The most important change I made was my overall diet! The foods I ate were crucial to seeing results.

What was the most challenging thing you had to deal with during your weight loss journey?
The most challenging thing to deal with was temptation. Being in a household where people didn’t care too much about being healthy took a lot of will power to stay on track and choose healthier options.

How long did it take you to start to see results?
I began to see result after about a month.

How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
It took me 2 years to reach my current weight.

Did you have any issues with loose skin after losing the weight? If so, how did you deal with it?
I actually didn’t have any issues with loose skin as much as other people I see online. I have a little at the bottom of my stomach but it’s not really a big issue.

How long have you maintained your weight loss and what are the most important factors for keeping it off?
It took a total of two years to shed the weight and I’m currently maintaining it. The best way to keep it off is to make a lifestyle change and never backtrack. Stay focused and maintain what you worked so hard for!

What keeps you motivated to continue your weight loss success?
I’m enlisting in the Army and I also want to become a personal trainer one day. I’ve helped numerous people lose weight already and helping others is what really motivates me.

How has your life changed now that you have lost weight?
I’m able to do everything I couldn’t do before! I look different, sound different and walk different. I feel great every single day and I’m just an all-around better individual than I was before.

Do you have any advice for others who are trying to lose weight?
Stay motivated and be determined! Remember that hard work pays off.

How did ShapeFit help you reach your weight loss goals?
During my weight loss journey, I used ShapeFit’s success stories as motivation.
