It’s time to Feng shui your body by clearing your chi! There are multiple ways to do this and one of the most popular is Yoga. Meditation is a strong power used to clear one’s mind and thoughts while bringing focus to inner peace and spirituality. The body, which is a physical being, also needs to be clear for it to be at peace. Peace helps to bring muscle growth and prevent injury. Yoga focuses on breathing and peace. Full effort and concentration goes toward years of perfecting this but apparently the end result is true nirvana!
There are a few yoga styles such as hatha and bikram. It’s important to experiment and choose the type of yoga which will appeal and challenge you in an enjoyable fashion. Some yoga classes are more about the meditation, breathing and chants meanwhile others are about power and strength with different holds and flexibility movements. You can even find some gyms which offer “Yogalates”, which is a blend of pilates and yoga techniques combined into one powerful class. These classes will enhance your body in several ways and provide numerous health benefits.
Tai chi is another great choice which has increased in popularity just as much as yoga. Senior classes even use seated tai chi for those who cannot stand or walk. Tai chi uses breathing techniques along with moving and swaying in fluid motion with the energies of the earth. Tai chi is an ancient form of martial arts and you can see groups of people practicing it in the early mornings at local parks and school yards. A similar exercise is Qigong which is an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques and focused attention. These systems teach you to master the flow of energy but it takes many years of practice.
This one may come as a slight surprise to you but if you are physically able and in good health, scuba diving is an excellent activity to try out. Being under water forces you to work with the flow of the current and this is as close as you can get to truly flowing. The environment around you will keep you in awe of the great power of energy which surrounds you while testing your muscles with every flutter of your arms or legs. Breathing is regulated under these circumstances causing you to work directly with nature.
Many of you may read this and think these techniques and systems are just not for you, whether it’s because of your preferences, abilities or beliefs. Well, you would be 100% right. The art of clearing your chi is all about what makes you feel free and relaxed and it can mean something different for each person. I personally enjoy dancing and kickboxing as my chi clearing techniques and exercises. I know a few clients who would recommend golf or bowling since it leaves them feeling refreshed, energized and at peace.
It’s all about what works best for you. As long as you take some time to apply different techniques of rest and relaxation along with enjoyment, breathing and overall fitness into your lifestyle you will have a much better chance at fighting disease and illness, most of which are directly related to lifestyle habits such as work, diet and exercise. Being able to release stress and clear your mind from everyday chaos is the key to living a life of peace and tranquility!
