Lillie Larsen is a clinical dietitian and has worked in a variety of situations and capacities including: renal, diabetes, stroke team, long-term care and general nutrition. She is currently specializing in Diabetes Education and related health conditions, and is employed at a diabetes center in Crystal Lake, IL, a northwest suburb of Chicago. She is passionate about educating people with diabetes and also helping those who are at risk for developing this condition. She is a Certified Diabetes Educator and has received the American Dietetics Association’s certification for Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management.
Lillie received a Master’s Degree in Nutrition from Brigham Young University in 1984. She speaks Spanish, and, in fact, did her thesis research in Mexico. Teaching sound nutrition practices to Spanish-speaking individuals is a large part of her practice, and she is currently involved in a support group for Spanish-speaking individuals with diabetes.
Lillie, of course, also enjoys teaching nutrition in English. She teaches individual clients and also speaks on various nutrition topics at different community groups. She has spoken at support and church groups, TOPS meetings, a class for day-care workers, and various community-oriented clubs.
She is available to answer nutrition-related questions, provide individual counseling, speak at interested groups, or to write articles on nutrition topics.
