    Walking and Running Calorie Calculator – How Many Calories?

    Find out how many calories you’ve burned during your workout by entering in your weight and distance in the walking and running calorie calculator below. Using twenty subjects who walked and ran at various speeds, researchers found that the subjects burned the same number of calories at 5 mph. Although running calories were consistently higher than walking calories at speeds below 5 mph, walking calories increased faster with speed than running calories. According to the NIH, to lose one U.S. pound (.454 kg) you must burn 3,500 more calories than you take in. Most individuals in the US eat about 2,200 calories per day.
