    How Do I Get My Hip Bones To Stick Out?

    question-icon-newI want to know how I can get my hip bones to stick out so they look like a “V line”. I’m pretty lean right now and I think my body fat is low but my hip bones don’t stick out for some reason. Are there any exercises or diet advice to help me?

    answer-icon-newBefore giving you advice on reaching your goals, its important to determine what exactly you are looking for. If your goal is to get that super “heroin chic” thin look of those high-end runway models you see in fashion magazines and on TV, then this is something that I highly recommend not focusing your attention on since its extremely unhealthy to be that skinny. Many of these girls suffer from eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia. They are severely underweight and unhealthy which is something you should not view as “cool”.

    The structure of your hip bones and other physical characteristics is purely genetic. If you want to accentuate a “V-Taper” look where your waist appears narrow, then you might want to work on developing your back muscles more, since increasing the thickness in your lats will really give you a “V-taper” look with an appearance of a very small waist.

    If you happen to be carrying a little too much body fat, then by following the proper exercise and diet program will help you decrease fat and tone up your abdominals along with your overall core muscles. Having excess abdominal fat is one of the most dangerous kinds of excess weight to carry, as fatty deposits around the abdomen have been linked to all kinds of health maladies. Losing fat around this area will not only help you achieve the coveted V-shaped physique, but it will also contribute to enhanced health. Focusing your efforts on the two following areas will help you achieve this lean look and contribute to greater health. These two areas include losing body fat and increasing muscle tone.

    Diet
    sexy-lean-abs-stomachEvery fitness program should include a healthy eating plan, but in our mission to reduce overall body fat and achieve definition in the abdominal area, special attention must be focused on how one fuels their body. A diet that excludes junk food, highly processed foods and sugary drinks is essential. If it comes out of a box or has more ingredients than you have fingers, consuming it will only push you farther away from reaching your goals.

    This means focusing on a nutrient dense whole food diet by eating plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and drinking lots of water to stay hydrated. Eating clean foods such as these will help provide plenty of energy for your intense workouts so you can build muscle and burn fat.

    Cardiovascular Exercise
    This can include everything from a brisk walk for about thirty minutes five times a week, to intense HIIT cardio training on the treadmill. By increasing your heart rate, intense regular cardio workouts will help you create a calorie deficit and help you burn off excess body fat.

    Yoga
    Practicing yoga is a great way to increase your overall core strength and tone up your abdominal muscles as well as your entire body. These areas include your back, legs, arms and core since many yoga moves include stretches that focus on maintaining intense core strength by bending and holding poses at the waist. It also includes the added benefit of being a proven stress reducer.

    Exercise Ball
    These exercises can be slightly challenging, and should be done with a friend or spotter present until you get accustomed to them. Begin in a plank or push up position, then carefully place your feet and lower legs on an exercise ball. When you feel stable, flex your hips and abdomen to pull your legs toward the right side of the body, keeping your back as straight as possible. Alternate with your left side and do this for about 10-15 reps per set, with about sixty seconds of rest in between sets. Remember to breathe evenly and maintain control of the ball at all times.

    When you combine abdominal exercises, intense cardio workouts and a clean diet into your overall fitness regimen, you will be on your way to reaching your ultimate physique goals. Just make sure you always stay at a healthy weight and I’m sure you will achieve that sexy and lean V-Tapered look!
