Re: Craig's Journal
If your gym has one, or you can use bands, not entirely sure how.The assist machine will have a platform for your knee's or feet, with various grip bars up top & a weight stack to the side. The idea is to counter balance the weight, that you are unable to lift yourself.I do own pull ups & c...

When I do a warm up before weights, I find 10 minutes on the bike etc boring, but when I do HIIT on the treadmill I ain't bored.

Re: Have I done it right, for calculation.
Yes that is how you do it, but caliper calculation is kinda difficult to get an accurate measure (especially on yourself) and generally requires an individual trained in the technique for accurate results. I did the waist myself, and mum did the rest (I visited her and took the caliper lol), she pr...

Have I done it right, for calculation.
I read this site how to measure body fat % and it said to take 4 measurements using the caliper from the tricep, bicep, shoulder blade and waist, it was: Tricep - 2mm Bicep - 5mm Waist - 10mm Shoulder Blade - 7mm The above give me 10.2%, it just seems very low (not that's a bad thing) but was this r...

He hasn't given me deadlifts yet as part of the routine, will see how this goes first and may introduce it in the next few weeks/months.Lesplease wrote:Do you do deadlifts at all? It will hit more major muscles than the calf raises alone (: Calves should get plenty of work on the squats/lunges/deads too!

Re: HIIT on the tradmill
I did first HIIT earlier, and I started slow to practice the jumping off and I was ok, it was easier than I thought.
I managed to do the speed at 10mph, after 30 secs on and 30 secs off for 10 mins it was a killer when finished but really good.

HIIT on the tradmill
I have been given a HIIT routine on the treadmill which is 40 secs on (at 11mph) and 20 secs off for 10 mins. I haven't tried it yet but mate said, you do realize the 20 seconds off is to jump off the treadmill onto the side and jump back on again instead of decreasing the speed to slow walk or swit...
