bahahahaha! good one uh Bossm...what was your name again?
The ? snack became the trail mix that I didn't have at first snack time. I had the chicken salad sandwich for lunch and handful of trail mix - no grapes.
So I've prolly had quota of mixed nuts and seeds today
I'm having roasted veggies tonight with sweet potato. I can smell them roasting in the oven..yummm - squash, zuchinni, mushroom, onion, red bell pepper, red potato, carrots w/garlic seasonings. :D will add the sliced avocado on top when done.

Roasted veggies are out of the oven! I had to hurry and take the picture before son ate it all. He loved all of it (except the mushrooms  )

Thanks, it was very good! didn't have the sweet potato, no avocado and I had some lean pork for protein. Yesterday was a success except for one slip up - I had a dessert after dinner. hubby bought me a dark chocolate snickers bar - absolute favorite candy bar on the planet...and I could not resist. I "justified" it by telling myself I did good all day.  I don't blame him - he did not shove it in mouth, I could have laid it to the side and saved it for "cheat" meal but I didn't. Oh well, guess "cheat" came a little early this week.

7.11.12
Breakfast: protein shake w/vanilla whey protein powder, sliced almonds, 3 peach slices, handful baby spinach, 2 tsp all nat. pb, water, ice / 3 small corn tortilla tacos w/bacon and egg
snack: same protein shake (it is on desk, I sip it throughout the morning)
Lunch: pb & j sandwich on ww / trail mix / grapes
snack: handful raisins, sunflower seed, pumpkin seed
Dinner: steamed sweet potato w/cinnamon & 1 packet "sugar in the raw". Baked chicken breast OR can of chicken breast w/sliced avocado

Every day you wake up breathing is another day to get it right!

Technically Peppers and Mushrooms are not vegetables, but i'll let you off with that as it's neither here nor thee really. You'll also get some protein in your mushrooms, as regular Mushrooms are around 50 / 50 Protein / Carbs, so incase you perhaps weren't aware of that, it might be worth considering next time you use them with a flesh source, incase you're concerned about not eating too much protein.

Thursday:
B: - protein shake, 2 small slices of sausage
L: - pb & j on ww sandwich rounds / grapes
S: 6 oreo cookies  (from the kitchen at work - whole box of them.....I need to stay away from there)
S: roasted chicken breast wing & breast slice
D: steamed sweet potato w/2tsp butter / cinnamon / 1 packet sugar in the raw & roasted chicken breast

Friday:
B: 1 slice bacon / iced green tea
Okay, heres's the deal...I actually bought 3 breakfast tacos from a mexican food place next door to where I work. i went over to pick them up and a guy walked in the store just ahead of me. He walked up to the counter and handed them a bag and said "this is not order, I ordered a burrito, these look like breakfast tacos" so they take the bag back and go about trying to find his order. I said to him "did you say breakfast tacos? (He said "yes") and i said "I think that is order". We kinda of awkwardly laughed and he said "I promise I didn't take a bite". Anyway, then he flags down the waitress and says "those were hers" and points to me. She then grabs the bag and says "yes, this is your order" then rings me up hangs me the bag - I pay her and walk out. The guy says something like "have a good one!" (American saying for "have a nice day")
Anyway, I am walking back to office and all I can think about is that some stranger had food, he may or may not have touched it, breathed on it, coughed on it - whatever. It didn't look like he had even touched it - but I could NOT bring myself to eat it. That's $3 down the drain. I think they should have made me a new order...but I didn't want to say anything in front of that guy, implying he was diseased or dirty - it was awkward enough. So, I didnt' say anything and I didn't eat breakast. I wish I could stand up for myself better. :( I hate confrontation.
Now I'm hungry, mad, and upset....and those oreo cookies in the breakroom are seriously calling name...MUST BE STRONG! :x

that would have bothered me too. i mean did he have to open the bag to see that they were breakfast tacos?? I did that once too not say anything when the lady touched slice of pizza at the supermarket.

also i never order mcdonalds but i do like there ice cream cones but it always bugs me when i order a cone and i can see there hands touching cone. i quit ordering the cone and started ordering plain ice cream in a cup because it bugged me so i know where you are coming from. I Dislike confrontation a lot too and have a hard time saying anything. I will just complain later. LOL

sorry your starving now. because of it. :|

I was wondering at one point when I started reading that, what was the dealio with the cup of tea and a rasher of Bacon for breakfast. I was tempted to ask if you have been dunking the bacon in the tea, as a sort of biscuit substitute .

ha ha bossman! I ended up eating a breakfast bar....I know, totally processed junkie food cleverly disguised as healthy fiber.

Still working out almost everyday. Went to the gym and did 6 miles yesterday. 2 on elliptical, 3 outdoor path, and 1 recovery mile on elliptical.

cheat meal was yesterday - but it wasn't so bad actually - beef/chicken fajitas w/sour cream, guacamole, 2% shr. cheese on flour torilla. I had two. And tortilla chips w/red sauce. Dessert was a candy bar.

This food part is alot of work to stay consistent and plan out everything. Preparation is key. Hope I get better at it.

Going to the local farmer's market to stock on some fresh fruits and veggies.

Hi Joc! Long time no hear from! Hope you are doing well. :D

I have been on vacation for the last week.
won't bother with listing what I ate.....no many offenses to list :? 8) But had a good time. I didn't eat terribly, but did allow myself some "off the program" foods. Pizza namely. I hadn't had pizza in I can't remember when. We ordered a pepporoni pizza and some garlic cheese bread.. O  M  Gosh  it was SOOOO good.
Fell off the chip wagon too, had some chili cheese fritos - one of main favorite cheats.

Anyway, back to the grind this week.
Used foodtracker today just to get an idea of where I'm at - wow, already up to 953 calories and the day is only half done.
Fat is at 49 grams already
Kinda brings you back to reality when you log everything in and actually see how much fat/carb/protein and calories you are eating. I am going to start using it again everyday.

B: 2 strips bacon, 1 serving grits w/butter
L: 6 piece chicken nuggets, pb & j sandwich on ww rounds
*D: steamed sweet potato w/butter, cinnamon, 1 packet sugar in the raw / roasted chicken breast or canned tuna or chicken

*need to add to foodtracker

I can already see where I can cut some of the fat and calories. Instead of fried chicken nuggets (from Chick Fila) I can order the grilled nuggets (from the kid's menu - they dont offer them for adults  - crazy, right?) that cuts 150 calories and 10.5 grams of fat!

I love this journal!

If you're feeling hungry, add fat. Dip veggies in olive oil with oregano and red pepper flakes, have 2 tbsp of almond butter with a piece of fruit or in a smoothie, or even put butter on your veggies. Fat doesn't make you fat, and it helps you digest the food you're eating and properly absorb the nutrients. Fat will help a lot

using foodtracker is exhausting
I'm at 1203 calories at the halfway point of the day. Already overshot protein limit by 10 grams, fat grams are already 12 grams over - but it is not unhealthy fats - things like evoo and greek yogurt ( I know....it's dairy and I'd given up dairy, but I used it to make a dressing for salad) and mushrooms, bacon, etc.
And some of the listings I just chose from a list that was close to what I ate but not exact so there is some wiggle room. :D
I've basically had:
2 slices of bacon and a whey vanilla protein shake w/1 cup unsweetened almond milk with frozen fruit (1/4 cup blueberries, 2 strawberries, 1/2 banana)
Mixed greens w/spinach salad. With 3/4 cup tuna salad. handfuls of sliced mushrooms, broccoli. 1/4 cup shredded cheese (dairy no-no)
1/4 cup homemade dressing w/2 tbsps evoo, 1/2 tsp. minced garlic, oregano, basil, garlic seasonings, 1 tbsp greek yogurt, 1 tsp vinegar, 1/4 tsp fresh squeezed lemon
1 container 0% fage greek yogurt w/strawberries
Snack later (I'm sure I'll be starving around 3 p.m) will be bag of mountain trail mix - 300 calories
Dinner needs to be lite. maybe another protein shake and some pb on celery sticks.
